Today was the Mark Maggiori art sale. Attempted to buy a limited edition canvas print. Had been planning it since it was announced and had multiple reminders and notifications set. The time came and by the time I hit check out they were sold out. Had to have been less than 20 seconds. :mad3:
 
Long week. At least thursday and friday. Looking into getting a small tractor-35 to 50 hp. Alt on 84 K30 is acting up.
Fellow rolled a mixer fri evening. 10.5cy , bent frame.

Fuck me, what a day.
I bid a rototilling job at 2hrs, few small rocks but didn't look bad.
Went to do it this morning. Fucking rocks the size of human heads every 5'. I didn't want to leave the guy hanging so I completed it but I spent more time replacing tiller tine bolts than I did tilling. Lost count after 25-30. Thankfully they're grade 5 and are the weak point.

Slept late, took a bunch of pain medication and jumped on the ZT and cut the grass before it turns into a jungle. Took a minute to get used to driving it with a cast on my hand. :laughing: The rest of the day the wife and I have been floating around the pool watching the SxS races at Mid America on YouTube. Think I'm going to run to the store shortly and grab some worms so we can go fishing in the pond. Last few evenings sitting out there there I've seen some decent size fish jump. Wife just informed me there is another jar of coffee moonshine in the cabinet so I'm probably going to raid that when we come back from getting worms. :smokin:

Went in picked up my empnada order, local lady sends out a text letting you know what she is baking and the day. Usually Sat. , went to the dollar store, stopped at the office new counter top ice machine was in, set it up chugging out ice ever since, had a couple brisket empanadas for lunch, took a nap....
 
In. Sort of. Heading to the depot of homes to get some bricks for another swarm. 18hr day yesterday whooped my ass. Had to go back in today for a couple hours before I said fuckit. Now trying not to lose my shit while figuring this out with the wife.

Cut a tree down to get mom's satellite TV back working that turned into an ordeal. Big leaf maple, wasn't tall but it sure was heavy, leaning over the property line. Not enough room to really wedge it, didn't bring a rope like I should've so I got to drag steel cable up in it to pull it over. Couldn't winch it with the quad because it just drug me up the hill. Ended up with the quad cabled to the Jeep as an anchor to get it over. Rain came in as I was rolling shit up, fuckin soaked by the time I had all the rigging rolled up and tools/vehicles off the hill.

Came home as I felt a migraine coming on, been in bed all afternoon.

Spent the day on the lake. Found a food truck at a marina, so we got some vittles there.

Now, home. Cleaning the boat...then the wife tells me we have a calf out. So, off go the flip flops on go the boots and we take care of it.

Was a great day. Gonna relax and hang with the wife since she flys out tomorrow for work for a few days. Boys and I will probably go fishing or something while she's gone.


Sure is rough being semi retired. :flipoff2::lmao:

Left home this morning at 8:30 to help set up for my granddaughter's graduation open house. Then to my twin niece & nephew's open house, then back to my granddaughter's shindig. Lots of people, lots of fun, lots of good food, perfect weather. Now sitting down to watch the Panthers hopefully win the Stanley Cup.

Got up earlyish, had a bowl of Cheerios, then went outside to work in the yard. We’re under a red flag warning because of the wind. I was going to use the small mower, but didn’t want to be “that guy” on the news so I used the weed eater to clean up my defensible space. My butt is kicked.

I got cleaned up, fixed a margarita, and flopped on the couch just in time to watch some female swimmer set a world record trying to qualify for the Olympic team. I could care less about any sports, except the Olympics. My patriotism goes to eleven during the Olympics :usa::usa::usa:

I set a trap for my skunks. I’m using cat food, is there a better bait ?

Trying to figure out dinner :homer:

Today is my father's day and I got to do what I wanted, well kinda. I wanted to take the family over the mountain to the not raining side if the state for the day. Wife said it was too far to drive in one day.

So we went to brunch this morning, wife took little dude to a movie after and I got to chill for the day. Drove into town to a brewery I like but never go to and had a couple beers and read a book.

Now I'm waiting for the wife and kid to come home and we're going to eat dinner at the local brewery from the really good fried chicken truck.

Tomorrow going to the parents house to cook steaks and put together my dad's Blackstone. I also need to weed eat their yard. Dad wanted a cart mounted electric sprayer for $300 for Father's Day, found the same one on Vevor for $110 and ordered that for him and bought myself an electric griddle from them. :smokin:

In. Mowed some of the property today. Rode dirt bike on my trail for a bit to see how my new knee braces felt before going to a race tomorrow.

Woman's work had a Jeep day so went and had a few drinks and looked at all the shiny Jeeps that have never been off pavement :laughing:

2 coolest things there was a buddy with his CJ8 with an SD33 diesel and a J-truck with a cummins swap but it was all bro'd out.

Had some fun with the wife this morning. Farted around getting shit together for next week when I head up to see my parents, and build a deck for my mother in law. Swung by my buddie's house to check on his demo project, but the baby was asleep, so he only got halfway done :laughing:.

Went to another buddie's retirement party at a semi local cigar bar. Three double bourbons was $90 :eek: + a couple cheapish cigars and tip. Wasn't a cheap evening, but it was a pretty relaxing way to pass the evening. Now home and sipping some barley pops playing video games.:smokin:
 
Spent about 6 hours on front brakes on the wife’s van. Rotors too thin to turn, had to drive 30 miles to find some. Good news is the parts guy let me have them at shop rate and now I have that shops account code in my back pocket. Saved about $120. Still took way too long. My first day working around the house since I’ve been out of the boot and everything just took longer than it should have. Home for the night per usual. Probably be asleep within an hour.

Slept late , fixed bacon and eggs and biscuits for me and my son and his wife who live next door .

Was gonna paint some more on the exterior of the garage . Got the basket lift all set up the other day , getting it in the right spot and leveled up with the outriggers takes a while .

Turned out some yellowjackets had made quite a nest in the soffit ,

Noticed it the other day and we’ve been spraying it several
Times a day all week but had no effect .

So today I set up a shop vac with a 18 foot section of 2 inch pvc right at their hole and vaccines most of them up .

I’m sure the neighbors were thrilled at hearing my shop vac run non stop from noon till nine .

Changed the oil on the wife’s mini cooper .
Gotta remove the windshield squirter tank to access the oil filter .
Used my new vacuum tank oil extractor thing to suck the oil out the dipstick tube .



Wife is using the expedition to haul some kids to the ballgame tomorrow , cleaned out the car and noticed the tag was expired .

Oops , I forgot the tags expired last month so had to go get the emission test done , so I can go online and get the tags renewed


Ate something that didn’t agree with me and spent the rest of the day on the toilet .
Currently sitting on the throne writing this .
