I have a pile of these things that came in a parts cabinet I bought a while back. Of course I kept them because I might need them one day.

I have no idea what they are and google is not helping. Likely related to HVAC and/or appliance repair as there was a bunch of gas fittings and orifices (orifii?) and random parts in the cabinet as well.

About 3/8" diameter and exactly 5" long. Alumininimum.

Had to look them up...don't think I've ever seen them in the wild. Must be old tech. All my houses have had the straps and my current place has goofy underside "bucket" hangers.


The 5" length checks out and when you actually know the word to search for they're easy to find.
