Anyone have a recommendation for a spot blaster/hand held media blaster unit?

I used to have a HF cheapo and got rid of it. Do I want siphon or top loader?

I am not close to a HF as I am on the Canadian side of the border.

Princess Auto has 9060591 on sale right now which looks like the HF 50 lbs unit…

Get a small pressure pot blaster. Everything siphon feed kinda sucks by comparison.
This might be worth the gamble. Literally want this for cleaning up spot welds and to use on smaller projects

Vevor also has this:

But they have this on clearance…

Not sure if I can use glass in this unit

I have the old red version of this and it kicks ass for what it is. It holds a hair over one 50lb bag of coal slag.

I need to come up with a better way of tuning on and off the media and pressure because it kind of sucks manipulating two valves to turn it on.

any deals on just the blast hose out there?
I've got an old pot with a crispy hose
been looking at a new hose but they're like $100

Looking at the price of a complete pot vs similiar pressure vessels there's no way the hose isn't cheap shit. You just gotta know what it's called in order to buy it.

It reminds me of old school super thick wall PCV and breather hose FWIW

On the OP
I've been using a "speed blaster" one with the red reservoir, it seems to work okay, looks pretty similar to the 25$ HF cheapo

I used to have a siphon one, the ubiquitous one that used a garden hose nozzle for its air valve, but I can't find pictures of it any more
it worked okay too

I ended up ordering the 5 gallon Vevor unit I linked above. It might be here on Tuesday. It’s first job will be spot weld cleaning on the TJ. Just got the floor in place and almost to how I want it.

As a follow up the Vevor unit does ok for small stuff, it cleaned up the spot weld areas… the sand valve sucks and seems to dump too much sand which then causes the sand to literally pour out the end until I clear the hose and “reset” it

I haven’t really figured this thing out… starting watching some YouTube; maybe a better “pro” grade nozzle will help?

I have an old Grainger one. Same unit. It clogs less when you close the valve at the bottom of the pot 1st, then clear the line.

It was definitely worth while on this small stuff… way faster and easier than using a grinder

Run heater hose or hydraulic return line? Looking at what's on my HF pressure pot I would have guessed that it is heater hose.

For the ops needs I would have been tempted to buy a ready blaster for the occasional little area.

My tank blaster needs just the right setting on the air valves to work right but once those are dialed in right it works well.
