Safe to swap airbag connectors?

2007 new body silverado. I got a heated steering wheel out of an Escalade to put in and also a new clockspring that has the extra 2 wires for the heater function. The problem is my airbag has different connectors than the ones on the new clockspring. Can I swap over my old connectors or is that a really bad idea?
