What's the bestest most effective most cheapest way to address this shit?

Garage door trim. It's been peeling for a couple years. I intend on moving within the next 3 years.

Kilz oil primer and forget it?

A gutter, or small overhang would keep the water from splashing up.
It's a natural... Shit just attracts here. The other side is a little better but not a lot.

The wind just piles snow and everything else up on this corner.

I just blew a giant pile of leaves out that was stacked up right there, and the snow does the same

lime water whitewash

lol nah, burn that shit down and replace it with concrete

Paint it with a good quality paint like Benjamin Moore. Then cap it with aluminum flashing so it looks pretty and the next guy won’t question it

Cut it out and patch it. This time make sure the ends of the boards are sealed.

I'd just sand the loose crap off and hit it with an oil-based primer. Maybe follow up with an exterior paint. Especially if it's just that one spot. I'm a big fan of PVC trim though.
There's some dry rot up top from an old leak... I really don't want to rip all the trim off and redo it, but maybe this is the best plan

PVC trim I mean

Does it to literally every garage, the snow sits there...mine is also wood, I just scrape/sand/paint every few years, actually did it last weekend to mine for the second time in the last 8ish years.

Permanent fix? Aluminum clad and caulked.

Replace with PVC

When we were selling our old house, the stupid inspector failed it because of this exact shit. :shaking: 2 back doors of the house just got scraped and repainted, had to redo the trim on the garage door as it just crumbled to dust when I touched it.

If the wood is not rotted out sand it down prime it and repaint and caulk it, done .

This shit right here. Scrape out the dead soft shit. Firm and seal with the liquid. Then fill and shape. Good stuff.

In looking at your photos more closely, I think there is something besides splashing going on here. It would seem that the water and the melting snow might be getting into/behind the brick, and this is where the water is making it's way out through the trim.

What if you dont move? Pull that shit out, remake with treated wood, then cap with aluminum.
