So just looked up a vid and dude quotes 3-8x speed of sound.

Basic calculator says.
Bullit @ 3100fps = 2110mph
Sof = 761mph @ sea level
3x 761= 2283mph
8x 761= 6088mph.

When discussing the SOL, it should be mentioned that atoms start to weigh as much as cannonballs as one approaches that velocity. As for the speed of the fastest rail gun, it is something considerably less than 11km/sec (escape velocity from Earth).
