Picked up an early 2000's craftsman hydrostatic riding mower for free because it was free. Deck needs bearings, blades, etc. and I already have lots of mowers so to scrap it goes. I think I'm building a mini dump truck out of it and am looking for inspiration.
Thinking stretch the frame, make a dump box over the tires, and harbor freight winch to lift.
Anyone have advice?
I've already got a 10yd truck, I'm shooting for 10cu.ft. truck.

I half looked at the electric wheelbarrows. They're like $700, which isnt horrible considering a decent 2 wheeler wheelbarrow is around $200.

Or better yet would be a second skid steer again so I could leave the grapple on one and a bucket or forks on the other.
Had it like that at the sawmill, but 1 was mine and the other a buddy's.

snow blower with the axle moved forward and a wheelbarrow pan replacing the blower on the front

Remove seat, hood, body and the whole “steering column” or the dash, essentially everything above top of the frame except for the engine.

Mount the dump and it’s dumping mechanism to top of the frame previously occupied by these removed.

Mount seat above engine with steering wheel between engine and the dump bed.

But I think this will be hard to steer with driver’s weight directly above manual steering axles, and may be prone to get stuck when unladen lacking weight above drive tires?

Just an idea

What’s the intended load? Payload? expected terrains?

How many sister wives attend the lawnmower club events?
I'm from WV, I can't count that high.
Utube KIng of the Trimmers. It was a riot. Heavy metal concepts did a great edit.

The started as two craftsman LT1000 tractors, I sectioned out the frame, then used a simplicity hydro lever shifter. It has a tilting dump bed which i basically welded a tube to the bottom of and put it some pillow blocks mounted to the frame. I modified the craftsman dash to accept the simplicity hood. Used it to ride my son around when he was too small for a powerwheels.
My only advice is the longer it is, the harder it is to turn and maneuver around. There is also allot of flex in a lawn tractor frame so keep that in mind too. If i did it again I would have the wheels closer together for sure, either way the tractor is fun if you need to bring a chainsaw or some tools with you.

Youre weird looking. How do you even reach the pedals or steering wheel and drive this thing? How about groceries at the store? :flipoff2:

Here's one for $200. Sorry...I still can't post pics from my mobile.
