Rich men north of Richmond?

Confused look....getting in front of it is exactly what he did. Personally I think what he has done has done nothing but cement him in to "regular" folk. I know the locals are blasting the shit out of CEJ.
CEJ is the victim here, IMHO. They priced the tickets based on cost

I don't think there is a "victim" here. Ole boys buddy just fucked up and didn't ask enough questions.
my thought/comment was based on how much backlash CEJ is getting. They have to cover costs... and the cost of the talent drove that ticket price. The talent responding by saying he thinks prices are too high (I wouldn't pay $90+, personally) also put the venue on it's heals.

JBP interviewed him last week. Jordan’s advice was to get some competent people on the management side or this kind of thing will happen. If it truly was a miscommunication then hopefully he will heed that advice.

Easier said than done, a lot of snakes out there looking to cash in al sharpton style:mr-t:

I'm wondering what corners get cut at a $25 ticket venue. Sound, security, sanitation, food...

I mean, you could put on a show in a corn field with a PA, and give away tickets.

People on the internet overreacting and not grasping the full picture in 2023? I'm shocked.

I've seen plenty of damn good concerts for $25 per ticket. Hell, I just watched the Red Clay Strays for free here in town and it sounded great. A HS buddy of mine was the sound guy.

Smaller venues with smaller name acts can't charge over $25 per ticket and draw a crowd but you can go to plenty of them all across the country and see good shows. I bet the typical prices for shows at this particular venue are in the $25 or less range.

He needs to realize it’s ok to make money, he deserves it.
This was pretty much my take from his interview on Rogan. Being humble and not trying to get rich right off the bat is admirable. But he also needs to be able to make hay while the sun is shining.

He should get ahold of Colter Wall and ask him how he manages being a working cowboy and playing big shows. But he'd probably have to go to Alberta

i got my turnpike concerts in before their break back in my 30s. Great times, great concerts, songs are incredible. Helps having a friend who wrote/writes with their lead singer. We were at a concert with her, and she went up on stage and sang an encore with the band. really fun stuff.
JLW?

Yeah, he's red hot right now and you never know if that's gonna last or be a flash in the pan.

Colter Wall makes it work by being wealthy. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan but his father is the former premier of Saskatchewan (equivalent of a governor of a state in the U.S.).

Well deserved. Fuck em. the last show at the CEJ I attended... Was the last show I'll ever attend. They'll crook as much much as they can out of you if you let them.

I'll travel out of Knoxville for the same person before I go there again. I wish the cowards hadn't turned off commenting

I wasn't gonna say anything because I have no personal experience but this jives with what I've heard.

Saw Aaron Lewis there. Paid $500 for VIP tickets. Table by the stage, they bring drinks, guarded entrance you show your wristband to for ease of access back in, etc...

Called, they told me "Oh yeah it included meet and greet" I thought "Hell $500 is a little high for 4 people but hey meet and greet"

Night of they decided to play dumb. "No they don't include meet and greets, not sure why they told you that?"

Plus the stage is in a shit spot. It's a terrible concert venue. I would hazard a guess that's why you hardly ever see artists come back twice. Especially with the amount of other similar sized venues in the area

I was walking down a random back street in the Dominican Republic about 2 weeks ago and a guy drove by on a motorcycle playing it.

that makes me jealous as shit. id love to go back to the DR. had a blast last time i went. not at a resort either

so this is all local to you then

I used to live in the lower mainland which is in the first section of the map they show. Gibson, is on the sunshine coast, a short ferry ride from Vancouver First destination on the map, The North Shore which is just North of City of Vancouver, is a big mountain biking area, lots of steep fun stuff. Kelowna is 5 hours from where I live now, Williams Lake is 30 minutes away at highway speeds, and Prince George is about 3 hours.

I really need to get my knee in better shape so I can get out and enjoy things more. BC is a beautiful, but expensive place to live.

Yeah...I'm sure they are just scrimping by with $90 a ticket.

How will they ever survive between that and their $18 a can pisswater beer?

Saw them at the Boat House in Myrtle Beach with no cover. Food was great and teh beer was cold. RCS put on a great show. They played for 2 and a half hours. Heading to IOP to see them again at The Windjammer in October, $15 per ticket

Ffs…. The needed a full house at $80/ticket just to pay the artists fee.

As long as only 300 people show up for Howling Ginger, I'm sure that'll work fine.

Seeing him at Indian Ranch in 2 weeks. Great small outdoor venue in Massachusetts.

Make sure you do the steamboat thing.

All the local karens hate the guy for that thing (more than they otherwise would for just running a concert venue).
