Remington potentially being sold to Navajo Nation

Interesting, it will probably give them protection from state laws. I can't see it being a huge money generator for them but moving manufacturing to the rez would increase employment.

If there quality goes up, i'm all for it. Savage arms got rid of their chief on the logo a few years ago, if navajo reimagine the logo for remington or add a native rollmark, i'm a buyer. why? because Fuck those anti-history and anti-native bastards that think every damn thing needs to be removed from corporate media.

quality goes down even more, again? fuck 'em with their own rusty mfg'd stuff :flipoff2:

You can always tell that a guy is from Albakirkee, One leg longer than the other from walking from liquor store to liquor store around the mountain his whole life.

Well, they might as well keep the "Remington" name . . .

- the obvious alternative is already taken

Let me tell you it was a bitch when I moved to Denver and the mountains were on the worng side of town!

https://www.savageshooters.com/showt...dian-Head-logo

here is a thread on people talking about it fairly recently.

savage was obviously the dudes name and the logo was a play on that name, savage arms claims the 1919 deal resulted in the 'endorsement' of the logo, not that the logo started use then. logo predates endorsement, if endorsement was ever there.

point is: Either fucking way, too many bullshit people 'decided' it was offensive and savage arms buckled. did natives buy savage rifles with the logo? fuck yeah they did. why? because fuck you, that's why :flipoff2:

I live 20 min from the navajo rez, have all my life. The navajo govt is probably the most crooked govt of all the tribes, if they end up with it im sure they will be out of biz in two years.

What Remmington needs is some innovation, and they screwed the pooch in how they handled the 700 situation.

Is there a rez government that isn't? Laguna is pretty FUBAR'd too. Read up on the millions embezzled, I mean unaccounted for, from all their government contracts. Yet the fed continues to pour money into the rez.

I think if it happens it will be run further into the ground if that's possible. I definitely don't want to be one of the first to buy one of their thunder sticks

They allready have the best fire works and more firewater than they know what to do with. Guns wont make a difference at this point.

Didnt 1 or 2 gun mfg wioe their ass with the .gov anyhow?
Seems like this would be a good way to get around the bs and build what you want.

My observation of what goes on at the local rez is that the abundance of .gov programs and money given to them as reparations for the horrible things that europeans did to them in the past, has now turned a population of people who were once the definition of self-sufficient badasses mostly into a group of lazy, government dependent, diabetic, alcoholics that get away with drug abuse/trafficking, poaching, domestic violence, and waterway pollution that would put anyone else in jail for 100 years. It's a pretty good case study for what's going to happen to the entire U.S. in a few more years of increasing handouts that keep making life easier. The difference is that there won't really be anywhere to get the funding from. Not sure what happens then.
95% chance this Remington thing won't go well, I hope it does, but I'd bet against it.

There is no possible way that quality could improve by moving MFG to the navajo rez.

Seriously. I have distributors that are constantly having to replace product because their maintenance guys at the casinos won't put even a tiny bit of proper install method. It's not like gluing PVC together is rocket surgery, but when you tell a "plumber" that pipe thread is tapered so don't over tighten it and get that deer in the headlights look, you know it's going to happen again.

i kind of do just as a wall hanger :homer:

if they do hit the ground and fold, it will be an interesting topic piece. if they turn around and are not trash, well, i guess it will be a waste of a couple hundred bucks :rasta:

Funny you mention them. Worked for them, The Kewa pueblo, the Isleta Tribe and the Navajo. The Navajo are pretty open Socialists. Seen their Socialist table setup at the Gallup swap meet. When I was on the Laguna Rez, you swear it was old Mexico. I do like the Laguna burger you could buy at the Route 66 pitstop.

I say sell it to them, let's see how it goes.

Even if quality goes up I wont buy one. Fuck the welfare savages.

That's an accurate thing to say about Remlin....or even Colt:flipoff2: To say that about the new owners is not so accurate. Do you think they can actually take the Dr. Pepper filled baby bottle out of their mouths and actually be savages?
