Someone here posted a link about reloading primers. I cannot find it. Was it 486?

What size? I haven't seen any online in months.

locally we have a Thiesens which is like tractor supply, They always seem to have some on hand. There is another outdoor store that nobody seems to check either. But all the big stores and gun shops are out and have been out. When the truck shows up people are waiting.

I managed to score five boxes of 50 Large Rifle a couple months back. Five box limit, so I bought five. Gave up looking for projectiles though.

Hah, that's the same press I have.

I started with one of those as well. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done at a decent price.

I tried getting into it this year. Worst timing ever. Iunno, didn't really stick. Was going to start off loading 30-30 for hunting. Branch off from there. Its ok, but I can't see myself dedicating a lot of time with it.

I’m talking about actually reloading the primers themselves. Where the fuck is 486? Pretty sure he posted a link a week or 2 ago.

I've seen a few people talking about it, but I would want to know what kind of reliability to expect. I've got 5-10k of each of what I need, so won't be buying ammo for quite a while.

not me
I'm the asshole that stuffs boxer primers into berdan pockets and reloads steel
haven't done anything with reloading primers

look into shit like lead styphinate and lead azide
iirc one of those was what non-corrosive, non-mercuric, non-lead-free primers are full of

oh right, a while ago I was pulling down some 54R and noticed the primer compound had come out, looked like flash powder so I looked it up and older corrosive primers might be full of potassium chlorate and aluminum powder
the potassium chlorate is way easy to make from potassium chloride (the really expensive water softener salt) with a chlorate cell (google it)
the aluminum powder is pretty much either buy it and get put on a list, or ball mill it. Do not buy the HF ball mill for this unless you want to run it for a month straight to get a single load ground.

God damnit. It’s gonna bother me now. One of you assholes posted a link and I cannot for the life of me find it. Maybe big brother already deleted it. :homer:

The primer internals are crushed to ignite. I think the mechanics of this prohibit any re-use without extensive effort. Your are trying to re-construct this -
