I am going to need to re-gear my axles on my Ford Van project. The rear is a Dana 60 (I believe) and the front is a Dana 50 TTB.

I want to put a ARB in the rear when it gets done and would like to consider options for limited slip in the front but not a true locker, it needs to slip before it breaks.

The axles are currently out of the van and I could save someone the time of disassembly if it helps. I do not know anyone that wants to do it, mechanic friends say no. There are of course auto shops around but none of them are specialists in this area. This van will be used in Baja, lots of offroad miles and washboard. The last thing I want to have is a failure here, not very comfortable taking it on myself as I have never done a gear setup.

Got any shops you'd recommend or people that know what they are doing and want to take it on?

Too bad you’re so far away.

Tribe-16 is a bit of a trek since theyre in the dallas area. might worth hitting them up to see if they got any recommendations

Tribe and the guys that work there there are awesome, and the work they do is top notch. I'm actually going to call them tomorrow to schedule an appointment to have the gears swapped in my wifes JKUR.

As much as I'd like a recommended shop I decided to use the local 4x4 shop. I can't burn up all of the time of the project running up and down the road. DFW is 7 hrs no traffic. I guess for anyone else here looking for something in this area I will be able to tell you if all goes well or not.

Round 2 Off-road in Austin can do them

I've used these guys in the past. Set up my KP D60 about 8 years ago and still going strong.

Brave Motorsports may be able to do them but the last time I talked to Dave (owner) they were moving away from gear setups and installs.

I talked to him at the GABJM and he mentioned that as well. I'm trying to get him into tuning a couple sets of shocks for me. But, also, judging by the bumper release they did.....

I used Robert @ Sinister Offroad when he was in the Bluff and used to do them himself, never had a issue. Now he's in town (Corpus, uptown Leopard) and has trained monkeys doing things, it can be hit or miss. Switched to 4 Wheel Specialties on SPID for things I don't have time or experience for and all is right again. Not that they don't have issues at times, but they do have better quality control and they didn't nickle and dime me to death.

For clarification Robert installed gears and lockers in my JKU, 4.88's front and rear, ARB rear and E locker front. Straightened my front D30 twice. All good. That was 2015 to 2019.

Oct 2022 Sinister installed a Currie HD60 in the front with elocker (got tired of bending the D30 and wanted to skip the whole D44 thing) with TF HD tie rod and drag link, and that is how I ended up at 4 Wheel Specialties.

Hope this helps.
