Haven't done much on the truck other than fixing the rear carrier. The carrier didn't have enough preload on it so it spun and yanked the copper line out of my ARB fitting. Added another .010 shim and its been good so far. I also ditched the plastic air line and swapped it for a -3 stainless brake line so I don't have to worry about leaks.

Went and wheeled Johnson Valley with my buddies colinsmithslo and @pedaltodd, we started the day on chunder, then decided to try backdoor. Got hung up on my bumper and couldn't bump it up the obstacle. Todd came down and winched me up it then proceeded to roll on his way out of the trail. Got him recovered and went back to our Airbnb for some birthday shenanigan's

The next day we hit the dessert and ran Sunbonnet over to highway 19, 20 and 21. Sunbonnet had some awesome views at the top. Bent a leaf spring, got that fixed and kept wheeling. After that we decided to hit outter limits and run down it. Todd followed a crazy line Colin made and rolled his rig named Susan from HR. We pulled plugs, swapped driveshafts and he drove out of the trail on his own power. Once we go to the bottom his propane started acting up so I towed him from outterlimits all the way back to the lake bed (Boone rd). I get around the corner to find Colin rolled over after doing doughnuts, got him recovered, grabbed tow rigs and headed back to Airbnb for lasagna.

not sure who had the vids but i swear i saw some of this on you tube. i remember the 4runner rolled and smashed window.

cool pics too

Saw it too on Colins IG page, it was good one lol.. You guys gonna be at KOH?

did you take your tail lights out before hitting the trail? if so, looks like a smart move

I have all my lights zip tied in, I pull all of them and my mirrors before each trip
I need to start doing this again. The taillights are the only thing I care about aft of the cab. I was also kicking around grafting some of those HD XJ taillight housings on my junk. They just about fit in the factory opening with some sheet metal messaging.

I have to keep the mirrors, I can't really wheel without them, so nice to be able to see that rear tire.

Looking good man, always a good feeling to wheel hard shit with a bunch a bunch of trails rigs and drive your junk home without drama!!

If I still had a truck, I'd just make bolt on aluminum fillers from like 063, and put round trailer lights in them. Easy to replace and fix.

I suck at fabricating so I need to buy something LOL!! Also the first gen Tacoma rear bed has like 900million curves to it that makes it a bit of a PITA

I just welded in a piece of 14g at a 45 with an oval trailer light. Added some round bar and sheet metal at the top and bottom to give it some structure. They saw tons of abuse and I think the worst that ever happened was some packed snow pushing the light in.

I kept blowing out mirrors and at $50 a pop they add up. Def nice to wheel it hard and drive it back under its own power!

these are what i use. and the mount can be made out of anything. that mount was from a buggy off this site but its the idea i used. and if you leave the hose clamp loose enough it will spin out of the way. and if you need to move it you can too. even if you have a internal cage and factory A piller is there just make and arm from the cage to the mirror and still hose clamp on when it trail time. ideas is all.

thats a pretty good idea, if I break another mirror I might go that route, I just prefer the stock truck look vs buggy mirrors. I try to keep it stock looking so the cops don't hassle me
