Repost from the shiddy weld thread but I'm proud how it turned out in the end. Had to make a new point for an old slate hammer. These are kind of obsolete now in my area so it was cool to keep a little bit of the old school way of things alive
Stortz. Looks like a 1998 build date. They have a tendency to break at the handle to shaft transition. When I'm home Tuesday I'll shoot a pic of mine repair.
Who broke all the tips?Finished a small batch of knives in time for Xmas.
Cool. Your blurred pics make it look like a toy.It seems like I regularly have welding needs around the property that I put off cause it is a PITA to load all the genny and loose welding crap in a pickup bed, do the project and then unload all that stuff. Decided a welding cart would be handy. Had to be easy to move around by hand, self contained and could be towed around with a 4wheeler or small tractor.
Had a few days off so I started picking through the junk pile and my scrap. Had to buy a set of spindle/hubs and the front caster, but the rest is all junk I had on hand and repurposed. Ammo box holds gloves, helmet, welpers and junk. Probably need to add a basket somewhere to hold grinders and such.
This is the answer just use a stick machine.Cool. Your blurred pics make it look like a toy.
Do you use flux core when working outside? I always have trouble with the wind blowing away the gas when outside migging, now I always use stick.
it'd prolly work well for buildup inside the crusher with a couple bits of cardboardThis is the answer just use a stick machine.
I can honestly say I have never even tried outside mig welding.
When I had the rolls rebuilt up that was a flux cored wire. But then again he was putting 700-900# of wire down in one shot. I hired that out cause screw welding for 20 some hours straight.it'd prolly work well for buildup inside the crusher with a couple bits of cardboard
but it is just easier to leave self-shielded wire in the suitcase feeder (which is probably not even set up for gas)
You need a robotic arm. When I had the rolls rebuilt up that was a flux cored wire. But then again he was putting 700-900# of wire down in one shot. I hired that out cause screw welding for 20 some hours straight.
Yeah he had a roll welder. It would spin the roll shells and move the welder left and right as it welded. All he had to do was set it up and not fall asleep. You need a robotic arm.
Are we pretending to ignore her drinking problem? And fear of labels?Christmas present to the sister. The bench to a table I made for her last year, ended up magically matching correctly. I say magically because the table top was a series of mishaps of resanding, buffing, re planing, warping, etc.
Haha, her and the BIL were doing some reorganizing. They hit the duty free 1-3x a month and scoop up deals or hard to finds. Did try some blantons, limited release angels envy and stag Jr on Christmas thanks to their findings. Are we pretending to ignore her drinking problem? And fear of labels?
Never fails, always lurking when least expected. Is that a fucking Lego on the floor?
I can feel the pain from here.
