Radio too loud

2015 X (4xpro) with RF stereo. Bought it used.

Starting with the volume knob at zero (no sound), one click up is slightly low for driving, another click up and it is Ok or a bit loud, a third click up and it is uncomfortably loud. And it just gets louder from there.

The head unit doesnt have any gain adjustment. I have figured out the amp is under the passenger seat. Are there any gain adjustments on the amp? Do I need to pull the seat to access it or is there another trick? If amp is not adjustable, how do I get the sound level dropped so the volume adjusts like it should?

Does it do it for every source (radio, cd, etc.)?

Which RF is it? Touch screen? If so it has a speed dependent volume which may be wacky, it can be turned off.


As far as I know the factory amp has nothing for gain adjustments.
