I use a job site toolbox on the flatbed of my truck to keep tools out of the weather but sometimes need to leave the box in the shop or mount it on a gooseneck trailer. I don't really want to weld nuts to the bed and bolt it down everytime. Any suggestions for a type of pin that would be quick release? Lockable would be fine but it really just needs to hold a 300-500 pound toolbox from falling off in traffic

I’ve come across these tire carriers that are removable. He uses pins that drop down thru the top plate, the mount plate, and the bed floor. The strap lifting the mount into the upright tire creates some of the tension/bind, but it gives a theory to consider.

camper turnbuckles. weld a d-ring to the box and one on the bed frame. Couple quick turns and it is tied down and ready to go. If you want lockable, go with the torklift fastgun, cam over and spring loaded with a place to put in a lock. holds down a 1500+ pound camper, should handle your toolbox no problem.

weld down some angle iron tabs, 2" leg should be enough to keep it from bouncing off on the road

if offroad, then weld nuts to the vertical leg with holes behind them so you can run fully-threaded bolts through to pin the box down

Easy
Good
And cheap

(the chimerican dream)

Watching this..

how bout
4 rivnuts (4 corners) and 2 flanges on the box ends to bolt thru?
dzues???

All good ideas! I went the cheap and easy way and used turnbuckles that reached existing d rings. Super solid and I feel like an idiot for not thinking of it myself😁
