Quality wire?

Need some 12 and 14 awg wire, stuff on amazon has lot of reviews showing it breaks open as it ages

Any recommended brands?

For anyone in Canada; Newark often has good deals if you're looking for a few hundred to a few thousand feet. Even their cheapest "house brand" stuff is tinned copper (but with 80°C insulation). Everything they sell has spec sheets to look at, UL/CSA listed, etc. Occasionally you can find odd lengths for super cheap; like 4 AWG for a few cents per foot, that kind of thing...

I like BNTECHGO with silicon jacket. Tinned copper, not CCA. been consistent for some time now.
