Went to the ford dealer the other day for a T-stat for the Juan fiddy. I know a guy there and he corners me. Apparently a 24 year old dude just left in his new King Ranch Tremor. Lives with his parents, but works. My buddy saw the deal go down. 2600 a month. For a truck. A depreciating asset. His money, he can do what he wants but fuck me that’s nuts. Cool stary bra...

I had a $2600 a month truck payment once. Paid it off in one month :flipoff2:.

$1600/month is ALL my recurring expenses, including the mortgage. Granted, I'm a minimalist.

No way could I sleep with that kind of payment.

Know a guy paying around $1700 IIRC on a 450 that he really doesnt use.

He has no idea how long the loan is. Said it didnt matter as he was going to trade it in before it was paid off.

The only tremor truck I care about, you can probably buy it under 4 months of his payments

the financial illiteracy is a worse problem than actual illiteracy
You can teach people math, after that…. It’s an individual thing.

Now any GOOD math teacher should be teaching a unit on Taxes, Interest , and compounding principles of money.

And any good geometry teacher should be teaching construction and machining mathematics. (The geometry exit exam should be a practical exercise where a they are shown an actual frame or form that looks visually square and they have to check it for proper square)

Whether it’s spelled out in the district/ state curriculum or not.

I know a guy paying about that much on a 450, but he needs it to drive fat kids around for his wife’s business or something.

I remember when people thought I was insane to finace a new 2015 2500HD LT that cost $45,000 out the door.

$618/84 months.

People dream of that now.
Problem there is you have been paying payments in your multi truck changes since you bought that 2015. Now you have the 2015 back and had you kept it it would have been paid off but you are still making payments on a 9 year old truck. Stupid but not idiocy.
