Just a quick question for everyone.

This is my first rig running an assist ram.

I set it up with the cap end mounted to the axle and the rod end to the tie rod.

Seems now its always wanting to slightly turn right when driving on the road.

I assume this is because of the cap end having more surface area on the piston.

So is the slight pull normal?

Thanks.

I notice zero pull with mine. Did you get it centered when mounting ?

i'd assume air or a problem elsewhere in the system.

bleed it again (and then again) to see if it goes away, the ram should hold when it isn't receiving input from the steering box

Okay, im wondering if its my 40 yr old steering gear maybe bypassing a bit. I guess its more of a push to the right than a pull.

Ive been driving it a couple thousand miles and still seems to do it.

Its on my 79 scout ii.

Maybe ill send my spare steering gear off to redhead or psc for a rebuild.
