So some of you may remember my old rig that I had forever it was a Tj I got new back in 2004 went through all the stages of wheeling life until it got to the point I have to make a change to keep up with buggy’s so I pulled the tub and made it a buggy with what I had..... worked well but I was ready to make some changes after 7 years plans snow balled in to a whole new chassis in to all new drive train and so on.

So I sold the old one and got moving on this new one hopefully it will be up and going by this summer but time will tell if all the parts will show up in time.

Build specs for the new one is very budget friendly trying to put money in to the right place now and save where I can.

The chassis is 1.75, 1.5 1.25 dom 48” wide small and light is the goal

6.0L Lq4, TH350, atlas

Holly terminator X EFI system

Trail Gear 9” housing Ford SD outs, and rear steer
Rear shafts are branik 300m shafts Yukon u joints
Fronts for now are Yukon 4130 shafts nitro u joints
Strange 3rds with 10” ring and pinion and spools
Psc rams
Goat built pump and alternator mounts
Warn RC 9k winch

Vision 20” bead locks
110” WB

Some parts are still in progress of getting order or are on back order.

why I waited on the aluminum Lowers I used pvc to get things moving....had the lowers made by WOD went with 2.25 for the lowers with 1.25 rod ends and steel uppers with 7/8 rod ends.

Tried to set the suspension up as balanced front to rear as possible with same sizes lower links and the axles set the same distance from the center of the chassis but had to shift the front axle forward 1” to clear the motor some more so I shortened the rear 1” to keep my WB at the 110” where I wanted it so it’s closed to balanced as I could make it.

What ratio for the atlas and the axles?

Tire plans? I assume BFG?

I ordered a 5.0 I also have a 4.3 in there for mock up at this time if atlas takes longer then I was told.... (eta is about 4 weeks out)

Motive gears 5.43

Tires I’m still working on bfgs are my top choice or 43 SX’s are my second option

Knocking out a few things... winch is mounted running the warn 9.0RC still need to figure out the control box mount, rams and seats are here... decided to run the coolant through the chassis to clean up plumbing for the car.

Had to change the foot well bar to get my self a little more foot room for the pedals but I actually like it more then the straight tube I had in there beforehand. My 3rds also came in as long as the parts to make my tie rods..... had a buddy cut those for me and man they are nice and saved me cash vs getting clevis from psc

Knocked out the exhaust, the trans cooler, plumb the radiator lines through the chassis to help clean up the amount of lines I have to run in this small chassis. Goat built power steering pump bracket and psc P pump came in.

well it’s pretty much a roller but got a long ways to go!!

Nice simple fuel pump mount.

Found a nice home for the duel pass power steering cooler behind the winch.

Also got the my 4 qt fluid holder mounted next to the fuel cell.

Also started on the knuckles getting the upper ball joint eliminators in new lower balls and high steer arms all on these went pretty well I like to duel pass weld when it’s on cast

Move the front shocks for the 8th time the last placement worked just fine however i wasn’t in love with it… so I found a way to get them in side the chassis with building a mount that is part of the lower link mount it’s tight but I’m pretty sure it’s all going to clear I’ll flex it out tonight or tomorrow and make sure it all clears

Props on this build :smokin:, I've been really enjoying watching this one come together quickly.

Seems like a very nice balance of bling parts and budget parts that could be upgraded later, was that the plan from the get go? Mind if I ask what the planned budget was and where about you'll be into it $$$ wise all said and done?

Thanks man!! Yes this is main goal I can only spend so much on it 😂

So I had been working on this chassis for a bit why I built my other buddy buggy… so I had the tube and the plan was to pull the old one apart and transfer everything over but that Morphed in to getting a deal on the ls and trans…. Then the 9” axles housings and then it came down to just selling the old one and putting all the money from that in to this… shooting for 30k but we’ll see stuff is costing more then but I have pretty much everything and all the big stuff is on order hopefully come June it will be on the trail.

Started on some of the outside part of my floors I decided to do expanded metal for this so I can see more…. The whole goal with this car is seeing as much as possible.

The inner part will be aluminum to cover the hot stuff

Also got the center stack started shifter is on switches will go on this. The black box will hold the holly 3.5 screen for my gauges

Got a lot of the little stuff done of the weekend nothing that’s picture worthy but down to aluminum work for the center and the part of the floor along with the roof, then skid plates and lights…..

Once that’s done I’ll blow it apart weld and paint it!

Holly for everything …. Keeping it easy and clean
Nice, it's going to look clean. Not often you have room to mount a hula girl on the dash of a buggy. Almost want to tell you how to spend your money and get the holley 7" screen just because you have the room.:lmao:

Going to be running a similar setup and planned on using just the Holley unit as well. Looking forward to seeing your final interior pics and how clean it will hopefully look without all the extra gauges.

Hahaha the guy I got the mount for the 3.5 makes the 7” holder/ water protection as well but we’ll see I really don’t think I need anything more but time will tell

Can you run a tablet of any kind of do you HAVE to use the Holley units?

Got a link to the guy that makes the holders?

Everything is handled through the screen you can down load and up load tunes and data logs but you don’t need anything else

And

Stripped it and getting started on the welding and paint is next!

My atlas is out for delivery so that’s awesome news tires are who the fuck knows with bfg and rear shafts should be shipped this week I hope

:smokin:. Really digging this buggy. What color are you going to paint the cage? Planning on skins? Color combo for this rig if so ..

What's the deal with bfg?

A small hyjack, you have some sort of part number on those vision 20's? I can't seem to find anything on a vision 20" beadlock in general?

Thanks! The cage is getting paint with hammer gray I’ll be brushing it on. No skins but i will try to put a hood and grill on it once it’s running. But I’m going for max visibility and I just rip the shit out of skins lol

Bfg start making the 42s last week then stop production and no one know why or what the new eta is so we’ll see

And it’s odd that they don’t list it anywhere but go forth tires had them in stock His in TN got them for me.
