What's new

Post up your CJ-7

This is my CJ7 with a YJ tub, high lined front and rear fenders, a 304, AW4, D300, and D44’s. I’m currently using modified Waggy leaf springs under the axle with 35’s! It works great but I really need a rear locker!

What front axleshafts you running?
Stocks! Lol... I've been very lucky. The only driveline I've broken was stripping the splines on the stock 2 piece 20. And that was on 32s before the SOA and 35s.

I ran the stock 30 and Moser 1 piece shafts with 331s for 10 yrs before I went to WT 30/44.

Wow! I have crappy hard procomp 33's on my cj7. I tacked the caps on my stock 30 shafts before my first trail ride with this rig. Have arb po installed up front, 1 pc shafts in rear with lockrigtht. Broke a front stub shaft on a somewhat mild hillclimb when the front caught air under throttle and came back down. They seem very fragile to me

I threw my old D30 ring gear up next to the D60 I just started tearing down...

:lmao:

That emoji is literally what I was doing on the shop floor last night!

Told my brother idk how I've wheeled with a 30 and not broke every time out!

I know it's a waste of money to build them so I never did. I also never broke tho so this kept me from building any further. I'm done with that now. Got multiple projects getting lots of work. I don't need 2 on D60s and 40s so it'll either stay like it is and I'll work at making it look pretty again or it's getting built tons and 43s, linked and ORIs... we'll see once I'm done with the LJ and back from EJS

What are the details on this thing? Looking at starting a cj7 build next year and I'm a noob to leaf spings.
5.3, 4l60e, 231/300 doubler, 60,14b. It had stock YJ springs with an added main i cut the eyes off of, and the rear is stock tj coils. Just broke a leaf last trip out so im ditching them and going 4 link in the front too. They did last quite a few years they flex great they were the originals from 91 lol

Lq4 with 4l80e and 3.8 Atlas. Chevy 60 front and 14 bolt rear riding on 14in Fox coilovers. Building the body out of 1/8 aluminum.

Is it the camera angle or do your axles sit toward center?

Looks like the rear for sure is moved up?

She looks clean and straight tho. Nice new top! Never cared for gold rims but some reason they go with that.

Slight camera and slight fiberglass body. This thing has had multiple suspension set ups over the years. Current springs have a little shorter WB. Rims are yellow Metalcast spray over old rusty chrome. I can't take any close ups or I will be in the bootyfab thread for sure:lmao:

Ya, it's a Willy's wagon grille grafted to the CJ grille.

It's a regular Willys grille that was sectioned and modified to fit the cj hood. Blinker holes were also modified to fit cj7 signals.
