What was he glassing out the roof hatch?

Is there one on the pass side too?

Thats cuzz they knew it would be froze up when they needed it.

Got the bikes on it, so they can get home....because chevy:flipoff2: Thats about the only thing that makes any sense.

hell yeah man
loves me some sidewalls on a tire, hate this low-profile bullshit
You need to swap your TDI garbage into whatever your preferred brand of mini-truck is so you can run proper ~30" E-rated shit from the dumpster.

electronic engine swaps aren't good daily drivers
TDIs do not live without the electronics, they commit sodoku really fast

To much work to patch it over? Isn’t that engine a pretty popular Samurai conversion?

We completely disassembled a 2021 ford Bronco. For a million dollars and with a gun to my head we couldn’t put it back together again if we had to. So I get it if some of it you just can’t do.

nah it's really easy, you can trim it down to like thirty wires

but there's a lot of one-off parts needed, and I'm not going to take the time to bother making something as nice as a $500 shitbox comes from the previous owner with
ETA: got a couple swaps laying around 7/8 finished

Like accessory brackets and mounts and shit or like electronic shit?

like engine mounts and transmission adapter type crap
I could blobberate something together, sure, but it'll be shitty and work just good enough to piss me off

they got a pretty compact alt/ps/ac bracket and drive setup

TDI harness can go down to less than 10 wires. Single power wire to make them run. The only downside of a Sami swap is how tall they are. That motor was never meant to go over an axle. A dry sump would do wonders for them.

there was never a mechanical pump on a tdi, and they kill themselves very quick when you put a mechanical pump on them, unless you dial them back to about 70hp from their stock 90 with a very lightweight vehicle, they'd probably not survive even 50hp in something truly taxing them.

I had the plant record on (i think) a 195/75/14... 600 in a 12 hour shift. I can't go into detail, but on this specific type of machine at this specific place management was pretty sure it was an unverifiable world record. I got a t-shirt and a $10 gift card to a local BBQ joint. A few years later some meth head got 610. Fucking cheater.

I was talking about the computer harness. No way would I try to make 1 mechanical. Ain't nobody got time for that shit.

still need all the wires to the IP (ten?), all the wires to the go pedal (six?), coolant temp, MAP/MAT...

I usually set my ECUs up with the MAP sensor dangling atmospheric and the smoke maps all done with MAF because it is easier (cheaper) to fuck with MAF than MAP when you're running 70 psi of boost

Hard to believe it’s rare to see on the highways anymore, I drove a freightshaker cab over in 1987.

Heading south today, this guy was running really well for its age. I let him get up along side me so I could snap a couple photos. One of our managers loves these old things and has three of them, just to have them not for use. Only one of his is road worthy he said.

You're killing my dreams here! Why is that the case? I've been wanting to run a mechanical ALH in my flat fender.

There's a lumber and truss supplier near me that runs cabovers into the Boston area.
