What's new

Pod type coffee maker

I put pod in, drink comes out 20 secs later, I'm happy.

That thing needs a stove and by the times it's done cooking im already in the shitter from mine doing it's magic.
That isn’t coffee. :lmao::lmao: I wake up, put the coffee on the stove and get dressed. Guess what? My fucking coffee is done!

We’ve got a standard Krig at the office, that poor thing does 10+ cups a day for the last 4 years.

I generally don’t drink coffee on the weekends

How do you like it? I’m debating picking one up eventually.
It’s awesome so far. I just barely got it and am drinking 4-6 shots a day.

It’s pretty straightforward. Gonna invest in a good grinder soon. Currently using a cheap 20yr old blade grinder.

Yup, wife and I every day. Maybe we got lucky.
Mine is working now. Hoping to have the same success.

My little needle was clogged. When I used the plastic insert to use my own coffee, I use to clean it all the time because coffee grinds would escape and get all over it. I bought a mega box of the one time use things and it doesn't get messy but come to find out, the needle clogs :homer:.

:lmao: In all fairness to thinking it was broken, the fucking display said it was having an "overload" Didn't have a clue what that meant until I had my coffee

My folks gave us a Keurig maybe eighteen years ago? It was great with the kids at home. We each had our own coffee, tea, and hot coco pods. Now I’m the only one using it. We bought one for the trailer, it lasted two trips then died. It was replaced with a ten dollar Walmart drip coffee maker.

You mean the water container leaks?
The reusable basket for the single serve side has an o ring that seals it. About half the time it doesn't, so you have this soupy mess of coffee grounds in it instead of the machine pushing all the water through.
It's a minor annoyance. It has never failed to make me a cup of coffee.

To save counterspace they bought the Kurig pod/pot because I refuse to use father's kurig.

It was gross af when we moved in five years ago. Mold in the water container. :barf:

The dual setup worked twice for the pot. Then it would only trickle water into the pot slow af. Like 25mins for half a pot.

I lost my shit and father said he had a Milita. I've been using it now for five years. Father has his OG kurig I cleaned up for him.

Yep. I have that same problem. I bought the after market ones. They work a lot better than the original but still leak a little at times with no rhyme or reason.

Bought the dual type, pot/pod . Piece of shit lasted 6 mo at 2 cups a day. The little insert leaked about 60 percent of the time too. It was the Hamilton beach about $99

Anyone have something better? I don't need the pot this go around. Just want it to last and I want to use my own coffee.
We had one of those and it was a P.O.S. The needle kept clogging up. :mad3: Threw it in the trash and got this one.

We have had this one for at least 5 years or so, it was given to my wife when they bought a new one for the office she was working in. Its never missed a beat and is used several times a day for coffee, oatmeal, cup o noodles, and whatever else we need hot water for

Figured it cost a lot more then $300

Anyone with a years-old coffee system that hasn't descaled it, you're like a buck's worth of white vinegar & a half-hour from having a seemingly brand new machine. Folks sell descaling solution, but nothing's going to work any better than white vinegar. Only trick there is run a few reservoirs of clean water through afterwards to get all the vinegar out of the brewer. Same goes for a $10 drip coffee maker - if your coffee's tasting funky, try a "factory reset" cleaning.

Yep. Father got vinegar coffee the first time I cleaned it.

I'll keep that in mind, eventually I'll use these pods up an go back to my reusable pods. I'll see how long it lasts.

Do you have to do any maintenance to keep those running right? Do they have the option of manual fill pods?

No maintenance. Didn't see an option for manual fill pods.

This thing is every bit of 6y/o and no issues.

I dont care for the cups but id rather deal with those than totalgirlfriend leaving pots and baskets full of grounds.

We have a Neapresso Virtou. The real only
Upgrade from here is a real espresso machine.

Our koureg and nespresso original just sit now. Find the pods you like because they have wildly different tastes. And different water makes it taste different too.

Update:laughing:

Went to trouble shoot and saw "clean the needle" right off the bat. :lmao:

My needle was constipated. Never had this problem with my own coffee but I've been using the dunkin pods just to try them:homer:
We've had a few of the rear Keureg brand units and now we have some cuisinart or other piece of shit. The Keuregs you could just throw the K Cup in and slam it shut, not the new one. You have push the K-cup down to piece it and seat it all the way BEFORE closing the lid/hatch thing, elsewise it pukes coffee and coffee grounds all over the counter.
