My 14yo daughter wants to give 2 wheels a try. After looking around for a couple months I think I’m settled on getting her a SSR pit bike from a local dealer to get started on. It’s a low investment so if she doesn’t like it I’m not out much. If she does like it, then we’ll look at actual dirt bikes next year. No racing or difficult trail riding, just backroads and some easy timber riding for now.

Any reason not to give one of these a try?

They have a Grom (mini ducati monster look alike really) look a like, that people love. Haven’t heard much bad about them.

There's a guy in the local Abq area who did exactly this. His daughter rides around on a little SSR pitster. Seems to work out perfectly fine for them.

And from what I understand, most of the problems people talk about for these china bikes have disappeared over time. Seems that most times, you can actually order parts online through ssr directly, or even some dealer service.

If you only plan to run it for a max of a year I dont see any issue with it.
