My work computer is having issues.

I get the blue screen of death occasionally.

I do not do much with it, just surf the internet basically.

Current one is an HP, been a POS since I got it.

I was thinking a refurb Dell would be fine.

I went on Newegg to find one and there are like 9 million of them and I have no idea what to buy.

Thinking a budget of around $200

Can anyone recommend me what to buy, would prefer Newegg as they do free shipping and I already have a computer monitor in my cart there that I want to buy.

thank you much!

Pickup a used Intel NUC. They're inexpensive, modular, and you can mount it on the back of the monitor. No real reason for a full size desktop for your needs.

I bought a $180 dollar unit of Newegg and it seems to be fine for the shop use.

Lenovo M79 SFF Desktop Computer PC - 3.5Ghz Quad Core, 8GB RAM, 2TB HDD, Windows 10 Professional

https://www.newegg.com/p/1VK-0003-1AV70

Out of stock now but it's pretty bare bones. The only annoying thing is the HD is slow and makes a crap load of noise nearly all of the time.

Well if nothing else it's gonna make a great space heater with that old AMD chip in it.

Do yourself a huge favor and install the OS on an SSD instead of that HDD. They've gotten pretty damn cheap, esp for the older 3.5" ones.

For what it's doing the chip doesn't matter. Price did and yes that's the idea on the HD at some point this fall. The computer it replaced was bought 15 years ago and running XP.

Don't fuck up like I did and buy a Lenovo at Best buy. Slow as shit. Can't do two things at once. Brand new to at $350 :(

I have this one in the cart right now, I always thought levovo made shitty stuff but if you think it will be fine than I'll get it.

The specs look good to me but I really do not know that much.

I love my Lenovo. I was going suggest one. If any he listed has a ssd hard drive get that one.

I see it does...I would grab it if I needed a new one.

Lenovo used to be IBM iirc, all their shit I've ever used has been at work and never had issues (unlike dell shit)

If I was buying, that would be the one. I love Lenovo business class gear. You can add cards later if needed with that case.

Anymore I just use external drives for large storage or important docs. It's cheap and removable if you aren't using/need it. You should be able to use whatever drives are in your current box.

This. Lenonvo 420/430 laptops with 16gb of memory, i7, and SSD on a dock with dual monitors is really about as good as it gets for a capable business class Laptop/PC that'll do anything. Only reason I choose it over a Surface Pro is the full dock and I LOVE the Lenovo mechanical keyboard.

All this. I have a 460t with docking station, ssd, 16 gb. This thing is a rock. I've been running Lenovo laptops for the last 16 years without issue.

3950X and a 3000 series GPU releasing this fall. :D

I took your recommendation and ordered that $199 computer as well as a decent 24" monitor that was rated for gaming so I think it should do well.

This TV I am using is giving me a headache looking at it - lol

Cool, do I get a discount for flopping a rental on main street? Does the rental contract cover bail money? Do you have an attorney on retainer? Got room for a 5th wheel on your property? :smokin:

Should have just gotten the biggest IPS panel you could within your budget.

Ashke something, goes by mcbuttsex? on reddit iirc. I am actually mildly surprised he isn't dead yet.
