The daughter of the 42-year-old man who allegedly attacked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband this Friday revealed in a since-deleted blog post that her father abused her and her two brothers growing up.
Inti Gonzalez began the blog post by describing how her mother had met the alleged attacker, David DePape, in Hawaii, her birthplace, and soon after relocated to the Bay Area and had two more kids, her brothers.
There the problems reportedly began.

“When I was about 13 my mother kicked David out because of his toxic behavior,” Gonzalez wrote.
Six months later, “the middle brother,” Nebosvod, started recalling memories of their father “physically and sexually abusing me and my brothers,” she continued.
The abuse “started when we were very young and continue[d] until around 2008, when I was 7.”
Nebosvod’s memories came as a shock because their father had always been “a quiet person” who “was never violent, yelled, or even swore.”
Nevertheless, their mother filed a police report, though “nothing was done about it in the end.”
Meanwhile, Gonzalez and her other brother soon after began recalling the abuse themselves.
With these memories in mind, Gonzales noted that her father’s violent attack on Pelosi’s husband wasn’t that much of a surprise.
“This attack on Nancy Pelosi’s husband came as a shock to me, though not much considering the kind of extreme abuse he had inflicted on me and my brothers. … I love my father. He did genuinely try to be a good person but the monster in him was always too strong for him to be safe to be around,” she wrote.
Continuing her blog post, she speculated that his abusive tendencies began with his own mother, who was reportedly equally abusive to him.
“He grew up in an intensely abusive home. … His single mother was a person who would beat him almost to death. He barely opened up about himself or his past but it was obvious that he grew up in hell and that we didn’t know the worst of it,” she wrote.
She added that he once apologized to her and her brothers.
“Once he sat us down in Tilden park. He looked like he was about to cry. He said ‘I am so sorry for everything I have done to you guys. I am more sorry than you will ever know.’ My brother Nebosvod asked ‘What do you mean? Like being rude to us?'” she explained.
“His response was ‘No That’s not what I’m talking about. One day you will know what I mean and I am so sorry for everything that I have ever done.’ He ended his statement with tears in his eyes. This was the saddest we had ever seen him,” her explanation continued.
Gonzalez continued her blog post by describing how, four months ago, she’d spoken to her father for the first time since she was 13 and used the opportunity to confront him about the abuse. But he’d stubbornly denied he’d ever been abusive, and “the conversation ended when I refused to agree with him that the abuse didn’t happen.”
In concluding her post, she wrote about reading her father’s conspiratorial blog posts.
Posts on one of David Wayne Depape’s blogs show he was into QAnon conspiracy theories like Hilary Clinton eating babies and adrenchrome, as well as many conspiracy theories about Jewish people, black people and the Ukraine war.

“Now that I am an adult and can relate to him as an adult I was able to learn more about him and his views from his blogs. Though I did not agree with all of his views, it made me happy to see that he had strong opinions about important issues that our world is facing today. He wanted to make a difference. He wanted to make the world a better place to have his voice be heard,” she wrote.
“He also created a blog for me that talked about new things he learned and projects he was working on, like the birdhouse he had put up or the Lazaris (
www.lazaris.com) meditations he was doing. One of his latest blogs that I didn’t know about until this recent incident is called
www.frenlyfrens.com. There is some part of him that is a good person even though he has been very consumed by darkness,” she concluded.
As previously reported, someone broke into Pelosi’s home Friday and then “violently assaulted” her husband with a hammer. DePape was arrested at the scene and is the alleged attacker.
Just prior to the attack, Pelosi’s husband dialed 911 and used code words to inform the dispatcher that he was in trouble.
“Paul Pelosi was able to call 911 at the start of the attack at his home in San Francisco, according to a law enforcement source and another source familiar with the matter. Pelosi managed to keep the line open and the dispatcher could hear a conversation in the background, according to the law enforcement source,” according to
CNN.
“Pelosi was talking in code, that source said, providing enough detail so that the operator overhearing it could understand that something was wrong. At the same time Pelosi seemed to be trying not to make it obvious to the intruder that he had an open line, the source said,” CNN reported.
