Okay i know lot of do not do FB /twitter, but face it they do play a huge role with the younger crowd, but they have been flexing there muscles over what can or cannot be posted/written , Now along come this Parler app

So where is the money coming from to support this and where will this go ?
 
Seen a few "friends" mention going not coming back, haven't seen more than a pic or two. Above /\ I just read their mission statement or whatever. social media doesn't have anything to show from my profiles my info is useless to them and i know better than to take much of anything as truth, if i care i could look into it. Whale falls are much more interesting.
 
My phone made its own password and didnt save it. Evidently my email must be a letter off so I cant get emails. I cant log on online without a password and cant get one since my email must not be right.

Also you can only have 1 account per phone number so once I end up getting logged off I will never be able to go back. At all no way no how.

I understand they dont want fake troll accounts but damn.

Its a pretty clunky app anyways. Its hard to find anyone you are interested in unless you know their exact handle. There are so many fake accounts its hard to tell if you are following them. From what I have seen Donald Trump is not really on it but he has about 100 different accounts.

Whatever. I guess I will use it till I get logged off then they can fuck off after that unless they want to help me out. They have my phone number why cant they just text me whatever I need to fix my issue. Fucktards.

Yeah, there is a mass exodus from FB bogging down the system. I opened an account the other day and had that issue. Came back latter and it was fine. I hope FB dries up and blows away.

Face Book has been deleting shit I share about the Joe B. or Covid19 left and right. Every post that has the word "election" in it gets a special link attached containing the leftist doctrine. When you share something political/covid you get a warning that there may be false/misleading info. Everyday I have shit deleted from my timeline in my notifications. Total fucking big brother shit.

Fixed. Young people are only on facebook to surf marketplace and keep a bare profile for prospective employers to find. Boomers are the ones who have turned FB into the vast cesspool echo chamber of fake news that it is today by carrying the "fwd fwd fwd fwd fwd" email chain garbage into the 21st century.

I use FB market place and never had to give them my #. They ask for it to help with yaknow, “security” but I just X out of that and move on. Once it becomes required I will drop FB all together

Clunky indeed. Just spent the last half hour trying to make an account.. First on my laptop, then I downloaded the app on my phone. Both ways got hung up on the captcha verification. Didn't matter what i put in it said it was wrong, sent me a verification number to my phone, but didn't give me a link or a path to put in the number.

I’m in my late 50’s and none of what you just said applies to me. I never post on FB and it is set to private. The company I work for want’s me to post up photos of work related stuff on my page. Not gonna happen ever.
 
People are also bailing on FB and going over to WIMKIN and MeWe. They're both platforms like FB (as opposed to twitter) and are even laid out similarly. WIMKIN is supposed to be uncensored, free speech and look to be right-leaning. MeWe claims to not share your info and that you actually own the content you post there. I signed up on both and will see how they really are - if they suck as bad as FB I'll delete them.
 
Tried signing up. They wanted a phone number, so I put in a fake one. It wouldn't work.
I guess that's that.
 
I’ve been trying to sign up there for a few days. No matter what I do, the password isn’t “complex enough”. I’ve tried several extremely complicated passwords, several emails, several phone numbers, and both my phone and computer.

Same, at one point I thought I fubar'ed it and locked me out forever but after umpteen times I got it working.

I think most of us welcome a facebook replacement, but just browsing around on Parler, I don't think this is it.

Parler is closer to twitter than fb. It did get bogged down the last couple of days. I've seen a lot of timed out failures.
 

It's not the argument or reason and you know that. I need some place to talk shit after I get put in jail on the other platforms.

Memes are meant to be funny. More so if they trigger people a little.

But yeah, I have a parler account. Had one for a while now. I think the lack of widespread adoption makes it not that great.

What you guys really want is Diaspora: https://diasporafoundation.org/

But it has the same issue that other small social networking sites have: user adoption. It's almost like if you respect other people's privacy and use dishonest practices to drive up user interest, you don't get many users. :rolleyes:
