orbital valve , what am i looking at

so i got a new orbital valve the other day and took off the port plugs and see the P port it appears to be blocked with a star screw see pic . bottom left port

So what I found out is I got the wrong orbital. I got one with load since or something. Basically it locks steering with pressure and there is a port on the side that is plumbed into the vehicle. What I needed was open center. I am working on getting that figured out now.

This is the one I should have got. But holly crap there is a lot to understand. Should have allied the first time.

The orbital that you have is a controller for a spool valve that directs the flow.

Interesting. Yeah got more than I need. The one I am looking to change to is what I posted with a open center.

I believe the thing blocking the P port is a check valve so that fluid cannot travel the opposite direction which can damage or cause the pump to fail

I looked at the schematic of my valve and there is a check valve straight off the P port inlet so that would be my guess on this as well.

You got the 12.2CUI = 200CC
PSC matches the 185CC with the 3" x 9" cylinder
The 160 is normally matched with the 2.5" x 8" cylinder
What size cylinder are you planning on running? You are going to have a low turn ratio, lock to lock

Your steering is going to be warp speed lock to lock.
2" x 8" is 15.28CUI lock to lock = 15.28CUI / 12.2CUI Orbital = 1.25 turns lock to lock
