One localish to me. Man killed in his own garage by DUI

I think about this pretty frequently driving around in parts of Vermont. There are houses on some main roads that are about 3 feet from the highway. Most of them are old farm houses and not lit up very well. I’m pretty sure the snowplow guys have to pull on the side wing when cutting back the banks for these houses or else it’ll go through the living room wall
Every place I see that's in line with traffic flow bugs me.

My high school math teacher grew up in a neighborhood that had one house like that. Place was brick and three different vehicles had crashed through the front wall over the years that he lived in that neighborhood

Yup.

If a house looks like it'd be easy to hit, it probably has been. Here's on of our local ones:

The first one's free, but after that I'm getting an emotional support dumptruck for the yard. Fuck the HOA.

Damn, i just remembered the Huckabee's house here in town is one of those. (They've obviously not lived here in a long time).

It's over near my Ex-in laws... normal 60's-70's middle class brick ranch, on the end of a T. I think the driveway runs right up from the T to the garage, and IIRC they took one through the garage door when I was a kid.

I'll get a pic tomorrow when I'm in town.

Goes to prove the fact that you never know when your ticket will be punched. One day you’re just living life day to day and then out of nowhere… BAM!!!
My belief is you're born with a pre-determined expiration date.

Funny, when I was picking the lot in the neighbourhood for the house (of the available ones from the developer), I very specifically avoided some lots because they were lined up with street intersections....give me a house location where it would be exceedingly difficult for a car to come off the road and hit it.

Other reason was so headlights don't shine in through the front windows every time a car goes by at night.
This is the way.

heard/saw a medical seizure almost do the same. garage owner finished unloading groceries from the back of the car that got hit a few minutes before. driver had a seizure while moving his Jeep in his driveway and matted the accelerator. jumped 2 ditches and throttle was still pinned peeling out halfway into the garage when I ran over. driver was out of it so I broke the window and shut the Jeep off. pushbutton ignition threw me for a second but just like a phone or computer: hold down the button and it'll turn off.

Other neighbors showed up by then who hadn't run as far and had more clues.

I didn't think to immediately clear the garage, I was more worried about fire risk from the running, impaled rig. I won't forget that if I arrive first again. But I don't know fuck all what to do with a seizing and nonresponsive adult. He was sorta breathing, so I hoped he'd make it till the experts got there. He did. Came around semi concious another 15 minutes later. He'd had a bad concussion a few months before and was cleared to drive earlier that week :homer:
How much money was in his wallet...?

There's a house down the road from here. Sits on the outside of the second part of an s curve. It's been hit twice by cars in the 15 years we've lived here.
This house is on the outside of a 20MPH curve at the end of a 40-45MPH straight.

Good place for a decorative collection of old tractors :grinpimp:

I've always thought a dead D4 would make for nice yard art

House across the intersection behind my last house had 3 hits in something like 8 years. Dumb enough to upgrade the carport to garage after the last one

Only 1 when I was there was a fatality. Guy ran from the cops down my street, blew the stop sign and hit a car on the more Main Street. Sent that car into the carport and was the fatality.

Now reminds me of a couple roadways I frequent.

90° turn on highway 179 in Wooldridge, MO. There's a large stop sign at the outer corner for the northbound traffic. The stop sign has been ran over by drunk drivers numerous times. There's also a quick dropoff into someone's yard there too

90° turn here in Ozark, MO. that runs right into a driveway. Luckily, the driveway is plenty long enough for even the most inebriated driver to come to a stop. Still, that turn is a prime opportunity for a swing and a miss.

i read that as guy killed by diy, like jackstands or something
