Thinking back on the last big panic and sellers that still exist. I see C Products is still making aluminum mags. Who was the crazy Russian seller based in Chicago that sold thousands of BCG's and had huge wait times. I cant remember his company name.

I bought a 10 pack of Pmags from Brownells in the weeks following Sandy Hook, took 11 months to get them.

I ordered some other Pmags from a company that doesn't exist anymore (can't remember their name) around the same time, several weeks post order, I received a box of ProMag AK mags. I didn't own an AK at the time, no one at the company would answer the phone, return voicemails or emails. So, I had AK mags for a few years before I got an AK.

A month or so later everything was unobtainable, I needed some BCGs, RGuns let me backorder 2x BCGs, I still remember where I was like 4 months later, when they called and asked if I still wanted them. YES!

That was it! RGuns! It was crazy

Dulles Gun Show was a mess the last time I was there. You had to park blocks away, line around to the back corner of the building, etc.

I remember $0.50/round .22lr when you could find it. And that was just the garbage blasting ammo.

I had backorders with Rguns for so long the credit card I used expired. By the time they were ready to ship the panic buying was over.

I saw what happened when Obama won, so when we all thought Hillary was going to win, I bought reloading gear, primers, bullets, and lots of powder, I have enough to shoot two or more matches a month for the next 5 years, and still have enough loaded 5.56 to shoot another two on top of that.

Buy when cheap and stack it deep.

I have been stocking up on reloading gear since 08 too.

My "best" memory from Jan/Feb 09 was Spikes Tactical selling me a couple dozen lowers as a presale, then contacting me 2-3 months later asking for more money because the wanted twice the original price prior to actually shipping me the lowers. I cant believe a company with that type of ethics is still in business.

Every time they have started talking about “gun control” since I’ve been into AR’s I’ve bought another 10 mags, always managed to snag them before prices shot up.

I’ve been reloading and stocking stuff for a long time, my issue has been adding calibers and running out of room. I have more than the “allowable” cans of powders to not be stored in a wooden crate. Takes up a lot of space and has to be kept inside. Doubt the wife wants to sleep with 200 lbs of powder under our bed...

I also never got into reloading for 9mm since it was so cheap and there was no benefit to being able to build different loads. So that has sucked.

Over the years I’ve bought powder from guys in a parking lot, “black market” primers, etc. Feels like buying drugs sometimes. Gunbroker has pretty much replaced that now, and prices can be ridiculous. I paid $185 for a brick of small rifle primers on there recently, since I had everything else :(.

I’ve had good luck with backorders through Midway, they seem to keep prices reasonable and cut off allowing backorders at some point.
