Getting out of the Rubicon yesterday. Pouring rain
We got caught in it sunday before last. Was a little concerned about going up Cadillac in the rain but it seems wet granite is grippier than granite with moon dust on it. An emergency rain suit is now in the kit, the bikini top was putting the rain right in my crotch all day.:homer:

I was soaked, everything is wet. Just a shade top is terrible for keeping water out. Guess I’ll have to get a rain suit also

There were cheaper ones but I picked up this one. case is compact should be easy enough to stash somewhere.

I had an inch of standing water in the floorboards of the jeep and had to pull the drain plugs for the first time at the tahoe side staging area. Hell of a trip to leave the hard top at home, she just wheels 1000X better without the weight. :homer:

We stopped for pizza and coffee in truckee, feel bad for the people who had to smell us but we were not driving back on 80 soaked to the bone. :lmao:

Couple of the club members stopped at the burger place there on the way down from Loon Lake but I was done with the rain. Took 3 times as long as we had to tug a broken Toyota from Little Sluice to Loon.

Here are some from Good Evening Ranch with the Sv4W group-

Few from "The Jungle" in Bethel Vermont. What a weekend. Insane dry traction.

Heres the rest of the photos I took:

There is an obstacle here called the half pipe, its steep and slippery. I havent even tried it in years, but the rocks were hot and the wife and I strapped in and gave it a go. Pumped to finally have this one under the belt..

And the other side

Went wheeling at a park called Kairos on the WV/VA state line (the state line goes right through the property actually). It was like wheeling in Jurassic park:
Kairos is a fun place. I went a little while back in my Sami on 31s and a front locker, it was awesome crawling in the creeks. The bigger rigs and buggies made a lot shorter work of it, but for me, it was super technical and challenging. The drive there and back (from Charlotte) was gorgeous as well.

Yea that place would be stupid fun on a smaller rig with one locker and a winch. Even white whale is doable with a setup like that and be a total blast if you know how to drive IMO.

I had a blast just being in the woods with the CTB crew and drinking in the scenery!

TimJus watching your YouTube videos. Is that Rocky ‘running away’ in the first vid you posted?
The wheeling spot soil conditions make me think of a tilled field with a bunch of uncrushed gravel pushed up in piles with a dozer. Deceptively tough looking from my corner of the world.

yes .it rolled and had oil go into intake tubes and made oil runaway when he tried to drive it . clutch was slipping badly and driver couldnt stop it right away

area was clear cut and top soil was pushed into piles.
