Official Watches of Chit-Chat Thread!

I think I paid a bit more. Good score. Do you size it yourself?
I take all my watches to a local mom and pop jeweler by my house for sizing. They charge $10. Although the last Citizen I got didnt need to be smaller.

Not sure I'm cool enough for this thread, but here's what I've got.

I really like that. Any idea of the model?

Month or so ago, shortly after I discoved wristwatch revival on youtube, I went to put on my orange watch and the battery was dead. So I did what any smart person would do and looked at old automatic watches on ebay. Then I did what any even smarter person would do and threw a lowball offer on this lovely chunk of soviet goodness. Dont ask why, I dont have an explanation... :homer:

Been wearing it a couple days and I like it, turns out a smaller watch is more comfortable.

I think that's it. I got mine from amazon though, it was a return or refurbished or something, i didn't pay that for it lol.

My FFL has a Heckler & Koch watch like in the picture. They guys in the H&K booth at SHOT were losing their minds about it. Apparently they're pretty rare.

That is seriously bad asss. I've got $5 for it. :lmao:

Current Daily Driver. Lacos Augsburg. I love how bright this thing is. You can almost use it as a flashlight.

since it didn't work worth a shit anyway, I thought I would tear into the Soviet turd. It went as badly as you'd expect...
I did actually plan on taking a bunch of pictures and trying to put it back together, but then I lost one of the very first screws and said fuck it...

I was all into tearing a watch apart after watching some youtube videos. Then I opened one up and saw how tiny everything inside was and quickly re-installed the back.

Just saw this tissot quartz chronograph for sale. I usually don’t buy watches from Amazon unless it’s a g shock but for $150 I would, especially since it’s sold from the tissot store. A shame it’s a little too big for my taste at 45mm otherwise I would probably snag one.

I have a basic Garmin Forerunner 235, does what I need it to do, and a little more, but it's pretty basic. Bright ass orange rubber band on it (getting close to time to replace it). Use it for steps, workouts, and basic smart notifications.

I have been thinking lately about a nicer watch for events/nights out/wanna look better. But it's maybe a 4 times a year watch, at least the way I see it. Because it's not very often, I don't want to spend a lot. What's the recommendation here?

If you can, different companies use different stainless for the bands.

The factory tag Heuer and older Bulova watches have what feels like the most comfortable stainless steel to me.

Which means, go try some on and see what feels good to you, weight and texture.

Once you've got a size, weight and texture, then figure the look and movement.

For something that isn't worn often, avoid a battery watch. Go mechanic hand wind or automatic. Check out ones without a date as well.

brother, you take shit like that apart in a clear plastic bag.
A guy I went to school with took apart his mothers sewing macine when he was like 5 or 6 with nothing but a screwdriver, then couldn't figure out how to put it back together, so he just shoved it back under his parents bed and forgot about it, until a few months later his Mom was screaming her head off and chasing him around the house with a belt.

I was just buying a few throw away watches for my staff to borrow when they forget theirs and saw this timex. It looks cool with a 41mm titanium case, sapphire crystal, and probably some kind of automatic Chinese clone movement. I haven’t had a timex since I was a little kid so I’m not familiar but I like the look of it. Fawker even has an exhibition case back.

$209 on Amazon

My daily watch these days. I have been really happy with it so far, very light and extremely scratch resistant meaning I have hit it a bunch and cringed but no marks/scratches yet.

You bet your ass I’m hiring, I’m gearing up to fire everyone and start hiring people that can remember their damn watch.:lmao:
Good riddance, Heathens :flipoff2: Stay strapped or get clapped.

Not sure I could work with guys that are overfocused on man-jewelry.

You’re way under qualified in any case:flipoff2:

Believe it or not a watch is a tool in some settings, such as mine, otherwise I couldn’t care less. If someone is running 5-10 minutes late on the hour it throws everything off and the next hour is spent trying to catch up and employees tend to get pissed. That kind of thing is bad for morale.
