shortbus4x4
Junk collector
Time to downsize some. It's a 1963 International C1300 2x4 that started out as a dually supposedly for the Asotin Highway District. Has a BG241 6 cylinder with a powerful Holley 1904 carb. I believe it's a T98 4 speed transmission. It's Armstrong steering and the original purchaser declined the passenger sun visor, can see the dimples in the sheet metal where the holes are supposed to be.
I brought it home about a year ago with a 4x4 donor truck and was told it didn't run and needed a starter. It sat for a year and got moved around with my service truck. I found the keys a couple weeks ago in the ash tray and was surprised that it cranked over and when I dumped gas down the carb it fired up. I drained the only fuel tank on the passenger side and put some ethanol free gas in it. It runs and moves under its own power. Went to start it up yesterday and found the starter solenoid is sticking. No idea on brakes but I'm going to dump some brake fluid in and bleed the brakes.
The mid 60s donor truck is giving up its NP202 transfercase, crossmember, and drivelines. A Dana 60 rear that seems to be posi/locked. A Dana 44 front open knuckle with drum brakes. Also Alcan lift springs and good tires.
It has a wooden flatbed but I have a steel flatbed off my wrecked Dodge that will go with it.
I have a new starter solenoid that's supposed to be here Tuesday. It also has a title and a Line Setting Ticket on order. And yes it has some rust, they all do anymore.
Asking $3500 and I wouldn't recommend a fly and drive unless you have a backup plan but if someone is brave enough I'll give it a tuneup, oil change and see what the brakes are like.
I'll get some more pictures of the donor 4x4 parts this afternoon.
