Norton and xfinity

Didn't read into it much but seems like Xfinity is dropping Norton or visa versa. I have used Norton with Comcast since the age of dinosaurs and looks like I need to find another free-ish protection program. Norton is offering first six months free starting January and then it costs $$.

Any other options out there beside standing next to the pc with a gun?

Just leave Windows Defender on and you'll be fine. Antivirus software is basically just bloatware these days and half of them are selling people's data. If you're not on Windows 10, start there because support for 7 stopped in January.

Been using this for many many years now, uses very little resources, free version does a decent job, I got premium version when they had a lifetime deal come out , I use it with Microcruds windefender

Have had good luck with Sophos Home free version and they are running a 15% off if you want the premium version.
