Norcross GA. Status check

Bidding on an old AMG Mercedes. DP Autos is in Norcross. I am only vaguely familiar with the area

Any locals that can chime in. I usually stay in Lawrenceville if I am not in Buford so have only ever driven through Norcross. Am I going to get mugged? Can I carry cash say less than $10k?
Flying in so most likely wont be carrying

Avoid at all costs?
Daylight travel only?
Nah, just another city around Atlanta?

Mostly another city. Working class, so there is some crap but not anything out of the ordinary. Interesting mix of Asian, Hispanic and Middle East cultures. You should be able to get some good Chinese food. I'd say on par or better than Lawrenceville

Checking a firearm is not too big of a deal.

Checking a bag is a PITA in general and I pack accordingly. I have only checked bags three times this year out of about 20 trips. Avoid at all costs if I can.

Went riding, forgot about the auction, went a couple k more than I wanted to spend but still a decent deal.

So missed it. I know enough about Atlanta to know there are parts of town to avoid but honestly never had an issue north of the city. Never hurts to check so thanks

There are a few places, but most of Atlanta is safer than people give it credit for. The bad parts of town mostly have either been taken over by hipsters, turned into Amazon warehouses or gentrified. There's not too many places left I wouldn't go, at least during the day
