Dmv website cites cvc but all it said was " cannot non opp , and cannot tpi"

I know there has been talk on how to dodge calif dmv butt raping us on no non operation status.
Any leads or first hand knowledge?
I know letting it go fallow will just burry it in back fees, but after 4 years it falls off but yet no information on re registering one "not in records" nor the fees and protocals...
oh and in b4
California sux ect...:flipoff2:

The dmv is good at getting their money.. I’ve had em pull it from bank acct. without my permission.

Sell trailer/reg out of state/move, is probably the answer.

Hell. If you want to bring title to the dusy, i can reg it in AZ, then mail you a signed title and you can go reg it again in CA

I think it's more than 4 years for it to drop off. I've had them go back 6 years on a truck.

And yes, I've had them try to come after me for delinquent registrations. They were never successful but it was still a hassle.

This is why I had everything registered in AZ when I lived there.

Is "4 years falls off" still a thing?

Thanks bud.
Actually looking at making it a semi permanent fixture, not going to over the road it for years.
It just rubs me raw paying extortion to the prk.
I can do a motorhome and non opp it, but a trailer? NOOOOOO:flipoff:

I have a truck that is "out of the system" yet dmy still sues me over back registration every year.

Way back I bought a Toyota. It had been in komifornia it's whole life. The guy I bought it off of was in the airforce and had registered it in Arkansas, his "home" state. Truck was at Miramar air base the whole time. When I went to register it they nailed me 300$ for the out of state smog impact fee. Even though they could see it in their computer as previously being registered in Komifornia.

The state was sued over that and lost. I got my 300 back plus interest. I should have framed that check.

Wow guess i missed out. I got hit with the impact fee years ago but never got my 300 returned to me.

So you cannot non-op a TT, OP?

Bought a TT almost a year ago but lost the damn title so until I find that I suppose im SOL as also lost the contact info of seller that was 75 +/- south of my A/O.

I had luck at AAA with a trailer registration. The lady said don't worry about the fees and charged me the taxes for purchase and registration

Not a tag or 5er...
Pti tags ($5) are for anything else...
Non opp is a racket here...

Try it today tho.
I've been told its a nogo...
Oh and now my closest 3a is 45 minutes away :mad3:

Not really permanent as far as cost goes at least.

From my logic if its permanent registration it should not require renewal.

California, the cost to permanently register a travel trailer as a Permanent Trailer Identification (PTI) is $10 every five years. This fee applies to trailers that are 16 feet or less in length and 8 feet or less in width, including folding and pop-up trailers. When a trailer is originally registered, the department issues a PTI plate and an identification certificate that stays with the trailer permanently. A service fee is charged every five years to maintain the record.
