Might as well start a buggy build thread to go along with my TJ build thread. A buddy who is an experienced fabricator had a chassis already designed but required a few changes for my liking. We teamed up and came up with a design that fit not just my plans but also me (6'4" and 210lbs). I sent him all the money and he got started. He was building the chassis, skins, interior, console, dash, fabricating some 9" housing and doing link mounts and aluminum links. While he was doing that, I got started acquiring parts. Below are the plans for the build and some pics...

Chassis - KORE Mfg.

Motor - LS2 built by Folks Machine - Norman, OK (Wiseco forged pistions, Scat Pro-Comp I-beam Rods, TSP Cam, PAC Springs, TSP Pushrods, Morel Lifters, ARP everything, Holley Terminator X, Holley Throttle body and fuel rails, Sanderson Headers)

Transmission - TH400 built by CK Customs - Ennis, TX (Full Manual Reverse Valve Body with Engine Braking, Custom 2500 Torque Converter from Hughes, Short output shaft, Full Racing Red Clutches and Kolene Steels, Kevlar HD Low and Reverse Band, Winters shifter)

Transfer Case - Atlas (4.3:1 ratio, Manual Strifters, 1350 Yokes)

Front Axle - Fabricated 9" (KORE housing, 05+ C's & Knuckles, JHF steering and Caliper Brackets, Branik Brakes and 40 spline Flanges, Gearworks High Pinion 3rd w/ 10" 5.83 gears and 40 spline spool, PSC 3x11 Ram [limited to 10" stroke] and Nick Barna Ball Joint Eliminators)

Rear Axle - Fabricated 9" (KORE housing, 05+ C's & Knuckles, JHF steering and Caliper Brackets, Branik Brakes and 40 spline Flanges, Gearworks High Pinion 3rd w/ 10" 5.83 gears and 40 spline spool, PSC 3x9 Ram and Nick Barna Ball Joint Eliminators)

Suspension - Dual Triangulated 4 link front & rear w/ 16" ORI's, Viking heims [1.25" lowers, 7/8" uppers], aluminum links)

Misc. - 43" SX Stickies, planning to run the new Traction Offroad 17" Aluminum Double beadlocks, Busted Knuckle Wiring kit, full Radial Dynamic steering setup with their CBX unregulated pump and Vortex resi., GOAT built Steering/Alternator brackets, PRP heated seats and steering wheel, Campbell Enterprises narrowed TJ Hood & Grill, and I'm sure there is a lot more.

Nice list of parts :smokin: aught to turn out really nice. Have any more detailed pics of the chassis?

Nice recipe and ingredients, oughta be a tasty bitch when its done. :grinpimp::grinpimp:

Glad to see KORE still building nice stuff!!!!!

Hot damn, this is gonna be a beast.

What's the current status and timeline like for the build? Is the chassis builder doing suspension too, or will you handle that at home?

Thanks man. No real timeline. I still have my TJ and wheel that. However my goal was to be ready by the start of the WERock season. Not sure if that will happen or not but I have most all the parts except for Cooling System, Fuel System and Axle Shafts. Everything from this point I am building.

Just messing around with a few things. Need to narrow my cowl to match my narrowed hood/grill. Setting the wheel base at approx. 114". Shooting for about 85" overall width to keep me narrow enough for WERock but wide enough to rec wheel still. My TJ is about 92 1/2" so it will be quite the change. Went with PRP Comp seats with 4" extensions and man theyre big. But they fit me great. Hope I have large passengers or they might get dwarfed by the seat! :lmao:

That engine skid is very interesting looking. any more pictures of it? All plate i'm assuming?

Nothing cool to update on the buggy yet. Getting everything organized and ready to be assembled. Been doing a little fiberglass work lining up the cowl to match the hood/grill width. Determined that I hate fiberglass.

Actually I just hate body work in general.

Also got the converter put into the CK Customs fully built TH400. Its a 2300-2500 Custom Hughes Converter. Put the Advance Adapters Atlas adapter on getting ready to bolt them together then bolt them up to the LS2 and stab into the buggy.
