pretty sure thats how the vacuum gets to the backside of the factory locking hubs, to lock from in cab. thats also why that big ass seal are on those MOfucershow did this happen ?

Yup, did the swap with the OEM shafts in a prior project. I've heard if you drove into a Ford dealer for axle shafts, they have been superseded and only available in 1550. It's not spelled out super clear, but the second quote box in the first post of the thread is the part numbers for the oem 1550 shafts.Probably a really dumb question but I'm new to 05+ SD60s and checked the bible thread here: '05+ Ford Super Duty Dana 60 Axle Tech & Info 37 pages, but I think these long side shafts with 35 spline inner/outers and 1550 joints should be a direct fit/swap for my 2009 F350 SD60 with it's 1480 joints, right? I don't need to change hubs or unit bearings or anything right?
