In the early 90's, I remember getting a "sunny day" policy from some outfit from Utah which was like $70 per year. I switched to a local place and got a cheaper sunny day policy-

It's entertaining watching the FICO score with my card holder. I'll put $5k on a card, my score will "drop" 25 points. Pay it off at the end of the month and it'll magically stay the same or go up 5 points. It did drop when I forgot February screws with it, and I got charged interest for a month. It dropped 50 points, then came back 3 months later.

It's all a fucked up shell game to keep you poor. Jokes on them, I use their money for free. :flipoff2:

Yup:laughing:

I think it’s insane to tie credit score to rates. Ours isn’t good because we have little debt.
I still don't understand why people let their credit score drop so they can be fucked at every turn. If you're NOT using credit today because you can afford your life it's really easy to get an 800+ about and save on everything. Get 30k+ on a CC credit line, buy groceries on the card and pay it off. Don't actually use but 2k of the 30 ever and pay it off every other week.
Do this for a few years.
Get an 800+
Profit.

Cheaper car insurance
Cheaper home insurance
Cheaper mortgage rates
Better jobs

Because those same people don't have impulse control and will spend $25k on that $30k card.

$2399 per year, full coverage on all, (but going to drop glass coverage due to cost and fewer driving miles), 851 FICO.

2023 Hyundai
2014 F150
1998 4Runner, (breathe Arse, breathe)

Wife has a company vehicle, and I'm not driving a thousand miles a week anymore, so typically I just do errands and go to the range so maybe drive 100 miles a week now. Love it.

You Yankees can get one insurance policy to cover all of your vehicles? We have to get individual for each vehicle I pay about $1300 a year for each.

My 01 f350 is about $1100 with 5 mil liability and a shit load of other coverage.

92 4runner is about $650 a year for the same excluding loss of use.

23 ktm 300 is about $1100 year too:laughing:

I was shocked buying ins in Ontario. Came from BC paying $86/month for a ton of coverage at 18 for an f250, to $450 for a base model escort.
Male? Price goes up.
Under 25? Price goes up.
No previous insurance with the company? Price goes up.
Car is red? Guess what goes up?
Car is manual, you guessed it...Price goes up.
Oh shit, 2 door? Price, she goes up.

I was too lazy to look it up. Actually my 2006 Jeep Commander and 2007 Mini are both about $1100.each.

I just got quoted an additional $8,500 a year to add my 16 year old in a used V6 Camaro to my car insurance. I was trying to find out the price difference for a 4, V6 and V8 since we haven't bought it yet.

Im assuming this is a fawk off we dont want to insure you price? Theres no way any sane person is paying $700+ a month for a kids car :lmao:

16 years old and camaro........what do ya expect:laughing:

I bought a used ranger when I was about 19. Was a lil over $240/month for insurance. I never woulda dreamed insurance could be more than the truck payment:homer: Stayed that price till I turned 21

Sounds to me like a combo of 16yo in a sports car and f-off, but there are a lot of V8 trucks in my kids' high school parking lot, and a couple Teslas, so I'm thinking at least some are paying $700+/mo for a kidmobile.

My liability-only previously-totalled bucket of Subaru went from $750ish/year with me driving it, to $2100/year with my 16yo daughter driving it this year. I'm dreading what happens when her little brother starts driving; was just talking with a coworker who's into $10k/year on car insurance (he has three boys). I'm starting to think they bill my vehicles separately on purpose so that I don't add the numbers up.

Look for discounts like usually there is a new driver video insurance will offer. Also good student discount. Look at what they are rating the annual mileage at.

Some companies will allow you to choose the vehicle the kid is rated on, some automatically rate them on the most expensive.

Ya that would probably be a performance car, insurance uses power/weight ratios. I think now most vehicles on the road will qualify.

Also, some companies offer professional discounts for you/wife, could be degree or profession based.

what insurance carrier?

Hartford, He said that included a good student discount.

Maybe I misspoke to the guy, is there a difference if me or my kid actually owns the car? He has a learners permit and is covered on all my junk now I think, he wont actually be 16 for a couple more weeks.

That’s been over 5 years ago so I don’t remember, but he was driving a 2004 cavalier and I don’t remember having a stroke over the rates.

Hell I’m paying $533/mo for full coverage on a ford edge, Camry, suburban, sxs, and two snowmobiles.
