What's new

New Ford Duallys are 6+ months out?

Paid $66K for my 23 250 CCLB HO XLT (not a dually). Is whatever that comes on Lariats or Platinum's really worth buying a 5 year old truck, vs new?(especially diesel)
Not if you don't want that stuff.
It's a sliding scale, the low trim level trucks are plentiful and the price reflects that.
The high trim trucks are still in short supply (Dually) and thus the resale price doesn't fall as fast while the MSRP continues to rise.

Not sure currently what options are like on a XLT but comparatively on price alone I'd say that's a good deal you got.

2x DRW diesel platinum/KR in my 100 mile range

17x DRW XLT's in the same area

vs 100+ of non dually 250/350's

I hear ya. But unless you DD your truck, or use it virtually every weekend for fun (with tons of mileage), I'll ask again.
Is it really worth the risk of a 5 year old rig (and maybe even someone's "lemon"), for some fancy options vs new?

Even for 24, a CCLB F350 XLT 6.7 HO Dually with these options

PFPT mirrors
3.55 rear LS
Rear defrost
Upfiitter switches
Wheel well liners

Stickers for $73K. My dealer (slightly above Philly), does 1% below invoice, so probably right around $69K for that truck.

XLT is not crazy loaded, but has (above an XL, which is a work truck)
4WD, P/drivers seat, 8" main screen, PW/PL, Fogs, Chrome Pkg, Prvcy glass, 7 vs 4 spkr stereo, carpet, trim items like cup holders/door pockets, 120V outlet, cloth seats, base electronic nannies, like collision avoidance braking, etc...

XLT is only 3 grand above XL, and turns it into a much nicer truck. Lariat on the other hand (lets say), is 10 grand over XLT, a complete rip for what you get over XLT, IMO.

See, I feel like the lariat is somewhat reasonable, but the ultra fag packages like the platinum and king ranch seem pointless to me. Doesn't seem much different for even more money.

Although I believe there is now a lot of options within the lariat package.

I do find it funny when people complain about new truck prices, but aren't even willing to look at anything less than a loaded diesel. :homer:

It's crazy to me that you can basically double the price of a truck with options.

Is that a two wheel drive XL or a four wheel drive? Four wheel drive is standard on XLT and above now. I’ve always driven XL’s before. New truck is an XLT. I don’t remember which option pushed it over when ordering, but mine came out cheaper as an XLT than as a XL.

Our lariat trucks were cheaper than any of the xlt models on the lot when I ordered them. Definitely seems “cheaper” to order a “higher” trim level with few options than pile on the options in a lower trim level. Now I kick myself for not just ordering an ultimate for myself, how spoiled we become.

I'll just be over here, happy with my 8 year old XL with 210k miles on it... It does have power windows, locks, mirrors, and a locking rear diff though :smokin:

Good catch, xl was 2wd, clicking 4wd and nothing else bumps it to $54,xxx

The other funny thing is the lariat bumps you to a 7.3 as a base engine, but when you try to add that to an XL it forces the stx package and is a $6k difference.... Which puts a 4x4 7.3 XL at a higher base price than an XLT?

Then the limited only allows the HO diesel. So not all "starting at" prices are apples to apples.

What's even funnier is that the only thing that $100k truck will ever haul for a lot of guys is their golf clubs and their fat ass wife.

Save $60k and buy a loaded Tacoma. If will be a lot better ride and quality than a new Ford, which is the lowest quality new vehicle I've ever owned. 2023 F250 in my case.

The pleather in the platinum is worlds better than the leather in the lariat. The massaging part is nice for long drives.. and the bolsters/lumbar support is way nicer in the platinum.

You don't have seat cover over the leather?

Y'all will fuck up a work truck. Husky Liners, seat covers and Linex are Job 1.

I beat the brakes off my Ram 3500 and when I traded that bitch in it looked like a new penny.

No ceramic coat BS either. I washed it maybe 4 times in 7 years. I detailed the piss out of it before I took it to the dealer and it looked so good I wanted to keep it.

Weather tech liners already there. Gets line-x tomorrow. :flipoff2:

If the can afford that much for a truck they better be able to afford a wife without a fat ass.

No shit?

Then an SR5 Tacoma.

I paid $42,000 for my wife's new 2023 4x4 SR5 4Runner. That is actually cheaper than I paid for my new 1987 SR5 4Runner when adjusted for inflation.

Looks like list for shy of $55k for loaded limited…

Dude if I spent $70k+ on a fancy trim truck I'm not putting gay seat covers on it. My first job we put 250k miles on a lariat F350 and the leather was fine. When it finally goes, spend the money to recover them.

Loaded Tacoma will run closer to $60k

Maybe if you check every single option. One with leather heated seats and all the standard fancy stuff is like $45k.

I wear shorts, in Georgia, 12 months out of the year. No thanks on cold ass leather in the winter and hot ass leather in the summer.

Give me cloth seats or seat covers.

Thats what the heat and cooled seats are for :flipoff2:
I also have a towel in the seat. After working my ass off outside, you can wring sweat out of my clothes. I didn't want to have that soaking through the seat covers and into the leather.

Try loosing wieght? :flipoff2:

No I get it for extra dirty days, I have an old seat cover I throw on my 97 if I'm at the junk yard or whatever. I also prefer cloth seats. But just have never found covers I like. My work truck has I think car heart covers, which are whatever, don't even cover the seat well. My dually has wet oakleys and I'm greatful my buddy put them in as the seats are basically new underneath despite him being pretty filthy. But they are hot, might pull them at some point and pop the cherry on the stock seats at 170k

Loaded usually implies all options… :flipoff2:
