What's new

New Ford Duallys are 6+ months out?

Did Texas not learn from the last time it got cold down there and shut the state down?

i mean....maybe go fuck off?

just a suggestion :flipoff2:

its not our fault Fords, somehow, cant process diesel fuel below freezing. i thought that shit was hammered out about 80+ years ago?

i have an aftermarket remote start, it automatically waits for the diesel preheat (grid heater) before starting.

FYI the '22 won't stay running either if the fuel is not treated under 20*F

Wow, my Diesel Colorado started and ran just fine at 17 the other day, but we also have winter diesel here. Dont know if they change out the diesel in Texas.

Tried to go to the grocery store last night for banana pudding and she fired up remotely then died in a few seconds. I didn't try to restart it.
Insult to injury is I added the power service winter ant gel on Thursday but forgot to drive the truck and mix the tank and put it in the filters.
Don't feel bad. My mil 2019 chevy is sitting at her house waiting for warmer weather cause it gelled up. And my fil tractor is waiting as well. He added stuff in them...today.

Me though, my dodge fired right up and ran just fine at 0 with nothing more than pump fuel. :lmao:

It was 13° at my house this morning at 6am and my 22 Ford fired right up after the glow plug light went out and went straight to high idle that I didn't even know it had. I didn't treat my fuel at all so I think you might need to find a new station to fill up at.

learned years ago about the manual high idle on my Ram. it will do it automatically also if the conditions are met for it, but being able to set it myself at whatever RPM is golden.

I never ran-anti gel stuff in my old dodge. It lived through 4 VA winters not giving a damn.

I will add: I get my fuel usually at the kum&go nearby cause they treat it during cold months. At least it says so at the pump. I told my fil today to look where he gets fuel. His 22 chebby ran just fine and his last fuel stop was at buc-ees in Springfield when we ran up to get the sprayer. I was driving that day, so maybe im just lucky.

I didn’t give a damn where I filled up my dodge. I was a broke ass graduate student. It got the cheapest fuel I could find.

i cant get past financing 60k plus for 9-10 percent interest. i took a moment to look at trucks today and a moment is all it took. fuck that
f150s can get 1.9% for 72 months. but 250's are 9-10 %

That’s odd.

Never had issue with the 21 in cold southern weather or even brief cold northern weather.

Diesel doesn’t care who made the filter it gets processed through if it’s waxing in the tank. They all gel the same at that point. Common rail filtration is much finer than the old days that could tolerate more wax suspended in the fuel.

Only option we had this morning at -15 to get the fuel above cloud point. Didn’t get enough kerosene in the tanks last week before we parked

Huh my 450 has been sitting for 24 hours and fired right up. If I wanted to play in the snow I'd go start my 99 350 powerstroke

my shit's been starting with a battery from '13
lots of ether, but I haven't opened the hood since... a few weeks ago when I used the engine to heat up a can of spray paint so it'd work in the cold
