What's new

New Ford Duallys are 6+ months out?

Govenor settings:
F-450 88mph
F-550 83mph
F-600 76mph
At least with mine. All running the same tire size. So, must be related to the GVWR.

probably weight/tire ratings

more speed, more weight, less air
all make more heat in the tires
you can balance them out proportionally (want to load it down way over the rated weight? drive slow or overinflate them)

My service trucks usually run around at 1,000-2,000 #'s lighter than the GVWR. We will see after this one is built out. I had a International Maxxforce 7 at one time. I will shut the doors before ever buying another International. 76mph would be light speed in that hunk of shit!

Dealer told me the massaging seats are done. Blamed it on chips… said ford is giving up and dropping them as an option

What’s the point of higher option levels then? They still show up on the build you truck page. I would think stripping some chips out of a lower option truck and putting them into a higher option truck would be more profitable.

No idea. Just repeating what sales guy said. 🤷‍♂️

That's sort of what mine said, I thought he was just talking shit but he might be right. The platinum still shows to have them though but I don't like the colors...

G rated tire if I remember correctly don't know the speed rating. I'll check into that.
Edit: Internet says G rated tires are rated for 56mph.
Edit #2 Looks like some are rated at 75mph.

Not doubting you just stating what would be the point then, I thought that was the big selling point of the higher trim levels.

Asked that same question.

Realized there are some other minor differences… (2021) platinum seats have 3 lumbar support zone adjustments while (2022) Lariat have 1.

The platinum also has adjustable headrests (for and aft) while the lariat is fixed.

I sincerely thing the platinum pedal adjustment has more distance than the lariat…. Or at least from what I can tell.

But otherwise, everything on the platinum’s list of features can be sourced on a lariat, IRRC

Coming from a Lariat to the Platinum the seats are just totally different, "softer" possibly or maybe more plush.
Even with my fucked up back the 15 hour cannonball wasn't much of a problem in them.
Seat heat on max, massage in "full recovery" :flipoff2:

I think the pleather is softer in the platinum. Agree on being more cushy. Probably going to be the one thing I actually miss about the truck. I'm honestly having a hard time getting the ergonomics right on the Lariat... Could be the headrest thing, could be the pedals... could be that it took me over 3 years on the Platinum to get them where I wanted...

I agree, I have had some trouble getting it "Right" sort of like menu that's too big, makes it hard to dial in.

my platinum seats seem to have a 3/4' softer foam over the seat compared to my buddies king ranch.
I even tried to add the lay flat option which says 10 way power etc. but doesn't say multi-contour.
The MC seats are nicer I agree.

Did you ever figure out your doors?
I found a new to me mechanism I'm pretty interested in.

FYI the '22 won't stay running either if the fuel is not treated under 20*F

Tried to go to the grocery store last night for banana pudding and she fired up remotely then died in a few seconds. I didn't try to restart it.
Insult to injury is I added the power service winter ant gel on Thursday but forgot to drive the truck and mix the tank and put it in the filters.
