What's new

New Ford Duallys are 6+ months out?

Yeah but that means the gas motor is "rare" so you need to pay more than diesel. I got into it with a salesman over that and ended up walking. Guy just wouldn't accept that less desired=/=rare and I'm not paying a premium for the cheaper motor
That is honestly what turned me away from buying one originally, The uncertainty of how they would fair on the used/resell market.

The 7.3 and 6.7 seem to be compareable price wise second hand from what I’ve seen. It will be interesting to see if that continues going forward with the 7.3 being standard now going forward.

The biggest pain in searching every dumb fuck thinks that their xl is a lariat because it has vinyl seats so it skews the searches 50% it seems like.

Then you have the Value vs Ultimate which IMO are not comparable packages to be priced the same.

Either auto trader is broken or there are ZERO gas engines in that search I did over 6.9L

Drug my camper back to Tx from Pa this past weekend. Ended up at 7.1mpg for the trip at 75mph for the most part. The 7.3 never lacked for power. Towed in 8th mostly. It would drop to 6th for hills, which it seemed like it would pull the world in 6th. At 8700 miles on it since June, i can't complain.

Compared to the bullnose Fords, 1st and 2nd gen Dodges, and squarebody/GMT400 trucks I came up with, a XLT or XL is a damn luxury truck so I'm okay with that.

I have a 22 F350 XLT I bought recently and that fucker is fully loaded in my opinion. Has power everything, tow package, some crazy stereo/nav system, a bunch of nanny bullshit I could live without but there isn't a single thing a higher trim package truck has that I can't live without. I'm also not trying to impress anybody with my purchase, so there is that.....

The XL and XLT trucks seem pretty affordable comparatively.

The xl trucks I’ve seen have been seems like 100k miles and you can get one for 15-20k depending on options but xlt and up everything is priced damn near new msrp. Doesn’t help sticker has gone up 30% in the last 4 years.

For example the lariat value that I have my otd price was 46k cant even find a used one under 100k advertised for that.

The truck I’m looking at is a private sale, it’s a friend of a friend. It was his personal truck, he sells farm equipment so I assume that’s why the miles are higher for the year. Going to try and look at it this weekend but I have fifteen pounds of shit to fit in a ten pound bag so we will see if I can even get out there, who knows it might be a xl I haven’t gotten pictures just talked to him at a retirement party last weekend.

They are going to get with the GM rep and try and find a line that can be bought...
They found one at another dealer but they will not transfer it.

All night at the bar tonight we gave him shit about driving a gay man's Chevy...
Dealer worked out a "deal" to pull the line have it fixed and reinstall it to the tune of $700 cash pay to my buddy...

I said what part of that fuck up did they own? They literally will make more money on that job than warranty will pay.
I said pay it if you need to/have to get the truck back but you need to tell them they are fucking you and you know it....

Texas Lemon law is eligible after 30 days so I told him be sure to tell them the timer has started....

He hung up with me and called them back to tell them to fuck off and then they sent a message back saying it's too close to the bend it repair....

My buddy in Alabama that owns the GMC dealer looked it up and said there are 4 in the country...

I just tried to buy the line from a localish dealer and they instantly cancel the order.

When I was a dealer tech, we would have pulled one off a new truck and swapped it over to the cusotmer's ride. Why isn't that an option in this case?

Because they have his buddies 103K already and they want 103K from that truck on the lot too....

Stealing a part off of inventory just means they have to sit on the now incomplete truck (bought with credit) & cant sell while they wait months on parts.
Better to fuck over the guy who already paid his money, make him wait on the parts, and sell that other truck with a fat market adjustment :homer:

Douches....

But really I think it might be the poverty trucks don't have the same line...

Ill try and check that.

edit:
looks like they should have plenty on the lot....

So what rubbed on it? Has that been fixed before putting a new line on it, or they just gonna slap a new line on it and let it rub through in 5 months?

Somehow hillbillies can keep lines from rubbing through on a clapped out Toyota with zipties, but a gm engineer can't manage with a blank slate, formed steel lines, and p clips. :shaking:

Yup. Its no longer about customer satisfaction, but the bottom line and getting as much product out the door, preferably financed through gm. They answer to shareholders, not customers.

Of course. He's a service tech. He just changes parts. He doesn't make things better.:flipoff2:

Hillbillies don't have fancy software to tell them what the bare minimum is and they aren't indoctrinated by a bunch of shitty culture that praises the bare minimum.

Always has been.

Honestly no idea, I imagine there is something touching that shouldn't be and it will get moved.
They mentioned "heat shield" but no idea for what/where.

I have not seen under the hood of it.
Is that the service port?
