What's new

New Ford Duallys are 6+ months out?

The update i just got from Granger is they will be selling the 23's at $1500 over invoice, and have 120 allocations. Im on the list for a call to order when things open up.
If they go to over invoice, I will be dropping off the list. As much as I would like another ford, I can get a better optioned chevy for cheaper. I have zero loyalty to any brand. It is whatever I get for the best deal.

ETA: This is what i got Oct 7th from Granger
We will be selling '23 Super Duties at invoice, and we have been keeping a waitlist. We will have 90 allocations for the seven-month run and the waitlist is currently just over 100. If you would like to be added to it, please let me know. I will just need your phone number. Order banks are expected to open later this month, perhaps the 17th. We will be reaching out to customers on the waitlist to get their orders placed when they open.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,
Savannah

Seems fairly normal to me for a ford.:flipoff2: But, really, that number (641) doesn't seem that high for the whole nation. Does that number also include canada? 641 failures out of how many hundreds of thousands of those motors are out there. The problem is more likely that fords engine production numbers are in the single or double digits and they simply can't meet the demand and demand has subsequently been stacking up.
I don’t think your thinking of the whole picture. After 6 months he’s only made it up to 641 in line. How long was the line 6 months ago when Ford diagnosed it and turned it in as a warranty. How long is the line today if they are stacking up counts and you’re taking your spot in the back of line… today.

Being in the industry of dealer equipment and parts shortages none of this is specific to Ford. We are months out on the most basic shit, entire assemblies like an engine are non existent. We are rebuilding 3x more machines than normal because there is no new machine inventory.

While I can understand that part. What good is a warranty if you can’t drive your vehicle for a year and you still have to make 12 payments on the broke down pos? I gotta think it’s a breach of contract if it doesn’t run and they can’t fix it.

Trust me a pickup is small potatoes to the disasters we have have(had) these last few years.

Customers are buying extra machines than their normal count just to have their own loaner.

They are getting rid of the 6.2. The 6.8 is a shorter stroke version of the 7.3. Supposed to lower engine production costs since they will share most of the same architecture. No numbers released yet on either the 7.3 or 6.8, but the 7.3 is supposed to get updated numbers to further separate it from the new 6.8.

Will be interesting to see what the 6.8 makes with some hairdryers on it once they are in wreckers everywhere. I think there's a few 7.3 builds pushing over 1000hp on a stock bottom end.

I hope they do what they did with the 429 and shove it in every MDT

After almost 18 months… my truck finally made it to a dealer who would do the rear axle inspection. Had to drive to central MN to get it done (was there anyway, but still). And yup…. Perches need to be welded.

Truck hasn’t even hit 10k miles yet. Really missing my 2016 these days.

I would just shop dealers here in NorCal and see who is taking X-Plan which would be cheaper than the Granger price. If no one is taking X-Plan then I would purchase Ram or GM. I have no loyalty to any manufacturer as I have owned multiple ones from each. They all have their good and bad points. Even the 2% under invoice would hardly pay for itself if I have to run out to Iowa from CA.

I saw a thread on The Bullet where a guy got his 7.3 in the 7's, with a factory block, crank and heads. Procharged it and put it in a Mustang.

He was running an 1/8 and decided to keep his foot down through the 1/4. Had the chutes out.

Video is on YT.

I found a couple chevy dealers willing to do the gm employee discount so I am going that route. If granger contacts me I will be dropping off this list. At this point by the time the trucks are delivered to dealerships I think the market will be bad so there will be additional factory discounts on top.

i did find a dealer here around houston that will honor x-plan, which is who i'll end up going with.

FYI on my sales order it has all the A-X pricing. This is the first time I have seen that, I usually just negotiate to "invoice".

Local. Pre-owned

All the guys who waited for the peak missed it and don’t know it yet. I’m watching some dually’s for sale around here with “call for price” stickers on them that have been sitting for months.

I don't care If I miss it, I just need my trade to still be worth the number.

Have you called for price? Post up if you have some numbers.

No but I can. And I’m not talking about you missing the boat. You don’t have a truck coming yet, by the time it is headed this way you’ll have plenty of market factor to base your decision on.

They haven’t bumped you back from Nov 14 again have they? If they get it built when they say they will you still won’t be seeing it till middle of December.
