Slapped together a Move kit on Sunday, so far I’m decently impressed with the fit and finish of it, went together pretty painlessly.

Looks good. I've been thinking about one to match the front on my 2nd gen. Is it about the same depth as the stock bumper?

maybe sticks out 1” further than the stocker? If I had trimmed down the mounts they sent I could have tucked it further under the tailgate.

The cut outs in the step are odd. I'd plate those. And the reliefs on the corners what purpose do those serve?

It comes with plates to cover those, they are to allow clearance for the class v hitch on the ram. The cutouts are for steps similar to a Chevy, kit came with an additional weld in foot bucket.

That sloped upper is gona fuck your life up in short order.

I keep wanting one for my crew chevy, but their discription (or lack there of), lack of apropreate pics just irritates the fuck out of me
I think it’ll be fine. For me it was a perfect cross of decent style and cost. I think I was at ~1400 for 2 4” leds for the rear bumper, and the two bumpers with all the options I wanted. Less than any finished just front bumper that I liked. Made it a relatively easy choice.

I am tempted... just hate any product with a logo cut into it.

Might have to mod theirs to Move... outta my way!
Usually bugs me too, but I’ll leave the logo to rep a good product, if it was shit I’d have filled it in lol. Probably tack a plate behind it though.

If he doesn't bust his ass slipping off it first it's gonna cost him a lot of money the first time he backs into a trailer that has the jack sitting a little too high and it rides the slope right into his tailgate.

Yup.

Are the foot steps actually big enough to get your foot in? They look similar in size to a ranch hand rear bumper I had on a truck. I couldn’t get my foot into the pocket. They ended up being a place to hold dirt and water.

Are you painting it, powder coating, or spraying it with bedliner?

99% of the time I'm in flip flops so yea, my feet fit, haven't tried with my boots on yet.
Pretty sure I'm just going to spray bomb it, this is my do it all truck, and I don't baby it, so i want something easy to touch up.

yea, you know I just usually say fuck looking backward and throw the truck in reverse and hope for the best when I'm backing up to a trailer, so that's obviously a possibility. :shaking:

Gotcha. Probably not a bad idea on the paint. The ranch hand I had was sprayed with bedliner by a PO. Not sure if the prep was crap, or if chips let moisture in, but the bumper ended up rusting underneath. It would have been a lot simpler to touch up paint.

i considered bedliner, if this was more trail dedicated id go that route.
I don't know what color to go with now is the big choice, I cant come up with a good color to compliment the gray.

There is a guy in my neighborhood with a 2007 ish Ram that is gray. His replacement bumpers are a light gray (almost primer color). They look pretty good.

Definitely Sceeping along on this, finally got some time to work on it again yesterday. Maybe 4-5 hours left on it I’m guessing.

Hmn, that Move kit may work for my IH project.

TBH i'm pretty happy with it, we'll see if I still am when I get around to the front one but so far all the pieces really fit well together.
Few things I would have changed here and there but all in all it was worth the money IMHO.

I dig those bumpers, but I feel like for a rear step bumper, the top should be flat. I would totally slip of that top with muddy shoes.
