I'm thinking about ordering a new 7.3 f350 ford. I have been watching the vids with the super charges and I get excited. I made a deal to sell my 19 3500 Chevrolet for stupid money. I was looking at a new Denali but I have had 3 gm trucks in a row. and it seems to be a bitch to get enough fuel for 6 or 700 hp. so I thought I would give the ford a try. anyone dealt with the 7.3 much?

I've heard a lot of great things about the new 7.3's. I've also heard the new 10 speed trans they put behind it can be hit or miss. Some guys like the way they shift and others say the shifting is all over the place.

Guy I know that does concrete cutting in an f450 loves it. Lots of water, trailer, saw etc. No problem with power, doesn't mind the trans. This is in Eastern KS, no real long grades like somewhere with mountains.

I’ve got an F350 4x4 with the 7.3 and 4.30 gears on order, but no first hand experience. I ordered about 2 weeks ago and was told 4-6 months to delivery, so hopefully you’re not in a hurry

your BDLs will be epic with that thing :flipoff2:

That flatbed-van that driving line featured with this engine is delectable. It's this but newer.

If you're leaning towards the 7.3, you might want to take a look at this one I came across on FB the other day. Nearly new, has a ProCharger installed, and other goodies.

Just priced out a 250 4x4 XLT and with the options I'd want it was $60k...for an XLT, cloth seats, one power seat, Nav, locking 4.30's, but damn, an XLT?

holy shit i'd need a loan to fill the damn thing with gas. 148 gallons of 91 octane is gonna be $500+! lol

lol, I just dropped in to post that for stacy. I know him and the truck well. we wheel together and raced harescrambles long ago. super nice truck, pm me for his cell

Our latest work van has one. We use it pretty good. Pallets of drums & shoes, chambers other random HDT parts no issue. We can put 6 55 gallon drums in it. So far no issues.

If you dont like the way it shifts the manual shift mode is a true gear lock. Not just a suggestion like on the dodge trucks.

I ordered Lariat CCLB 4x4 leather etc for $61k, this was from a dealer that is selling at under invoice. I think MSRP was about $68. They also had an approximate 2k price increase a week ago

Do your homework on invoice prices, costco is a resource.

I just got a $66k cash offer for my '18 F350 DRW Lariat 6.7 4x4 with 31k miles

My replacement Platinum was $83k in August, I am waiting on pricing now for the same truck, we'll see how much its gone up.

Bought a 18 year old ram 2500 for $7800 with 326k miles. :lmao:
I am sure it is solid and will have no issues.

After getting new( 2020, 2021) trucks at work, I'll never buy new. NEVER!! The electrical shit is completely out of control. Fuck that

Why are so many people scared of electronics? Afraid you’ll have to learn something/buy more tools in order to service it?

All I think when someone bitches about these “damn modern vehicles with all the electronic shit!” is I bet guys were bitching when vehicles when from carbs to fuel injection too, thinking it was the end of “backyard mechanics” being able to work on cars…yeah how’d that work out? 30+years later and you can still work on your own shit, just have to keep up with the times and OMG learn something new. Fuck that right? Better to stay in your comfort zone and never learn anything new.

Or put your money where your mouth is and strictly drive older vehicles. Most that complain about modern vehicles don’t do either… :flipoff2:
