Buddy of mine who lives in Panama sent me these pictures asking what axles they were. He wanted to know if he could get brake shoes for it.

I know fuck all about these things, but figured one of you would.

Front wheel hubs dont look right either.

One thing to watch out for is south american vehicles of most mfg ofther have differnt axles oe.

Have seen several of these jeeps most had a dana 50 in front.

A co member of MVPA had 5 or 6 of those back in the mid 1980's, about 250.00 each.

Check the cast part usually on the front side on either side of cover.

Looks like a dana, should have a BOM # on the tube.

I don’t think any of them came with a dana 50.

I've only heard 60 front, 70 rear. Drums and a big 6-bolt pattern that requires custom wheels.

Looks like regular 715 axles in the picture.

There's probably still active 715 forum because I'd guess they avoided advances in forums like us.

I agree with what everyone else said, 60 front, 70 rear....but that front axle is definitly not a D60

Link at pic with dimensions of diff cover. Looks like they sell some parts for them, too. They say lug pattern is 6x7.25".

Why do you think it's not a 60? Looks like the others I've seen, same crappy closed knuckles, funky lug pattern and hubs. I can't imagine someone would find a more unique and useless axle to swap in.

It doesn’t look like the pictures I get googling m715 dana 60. So I’m saying it’s a spicer/tinker/Coleman/marmon Harrington hybrid.

That looks like a really damn round cover for a 60 and the bolt hole spacing doesn't look quite right, especially in the top left quarter.

Sure it's a 715? That engine, if stock, looks to be a diesel.

Looks like the clones they had when I was in Korea 20 years ago.

They also had CJ5... Corando and Isuzu Rodeo sort of clones Hiunday Galloper..

Found it... Kia KM450.

Edit.. never mind I guess, shoulda read the 2nd page.

Got some more info....here's what he said.

It was made in 2003 by a company called Commercial Military Systems. The body and chassis are an old Jeep Kaiser. The engine is a 1994 Cummings 6bt and it has a Atlas 2 transfer case.

He said the guy selling it wants 12.5k for it. My buddies main concern is sourcing brake shoes and ball joints.....says they are shot. Also said the wiring was a little janky buy nothing her couldn't fix.

This was all he could find on either axle as far as numbers go.

The front end of that KIA KM450 looks exactly the same.

He sent me a vid, I'm trying to up load it.

I told my buddy to look up a Kia KM450.

He said he's pretty sure that's what it actually is. Said the body lines match

After some research, I found that Commercial Military Systems Co., Inc was an actual company in Augusta Georgia:

According to that same research, they refurbished vehicles for military purposes. So I think it's an actual m715 refurbished with parts from a variety of places. The engine being a Cummins with an automatic transmission rules out the engine and transmission from a KM450 as they use a 4 cylinder diesel and 5 speed manual transmission:

Very interesting find your friend has there.

Means the axles could be literally anything. Odd that they're closed knuckle still. I'd pull the shoes and have them relined lol

I think re-lining is gon be the best option also.

The only things ive seen with dual brake cyl are early land cruisers and mdt trucks.

Those front knucles look very different than oe d60 closed knuckles aswell.

The rear diff is clearly a dana70 but the bolt pattern is odd on the axle flange.
I have no idea wtf that front is.
