NAXJA gone forever?

It's a host issue and the host is softlayer and they have not been responsive.
domain isn't gone, host is just down.

There's a lot of good XJ stuff on there from years past. I should have come to GCC and asked my newbie questions first, I know that. Thanks for the info 87manche.

better be, I just renewed! Although I don't post over there much. Used to, but still go back for research and to browse.

Still have my original SxS.

I have a white DD as well. Normally on 32s, but we had a crap load of snow last T-day and bolted on the crawlers 35's to get around. Had them @ around 6 psi. That was fun.

I tried, picked up 2001 Limited a few years ago, put a 3.5" RE Super Ride, Rusty's crap steering, and did a bunch of repairs, maintenance, and upgrades... we never gelled. On paper it seemed like the perfect inclement weather/farm beater. In reality, it's even smaller than it looks, somehow the inside is smaller than the outside, like a reverse TARDIS. It's uncomfortable, I don't fit, and partly my fault, I went all the way to St. Louis to get it, so it's rusty, so I loathe working on it.

It's doing a fine job as a small, semi-mobile, storage unit out at our property now.

I bought a decent one without much rust, none on the body, and swapped in a 5.3 I built (nothing special), 4l60e, np241j, etc. The suspension stuff just got here and I have some other things to fix up, but it should be a decent mild wheeler and good to tow behind the motorhome. I'm a fat white guy and I fit into really well for some reason, and I wanted something kinda small/light.

My dad loved his and he's 6'2". He never got people that said they didn't fit. He has a JK and still says the XJ was better in alot of areas.

I've had the I don't fit in an XJ debate with other folks, I'm not a giant, just 6' 205+ lbs 34" inseam, so maybe a little leggy. I'm cramped in the driver's seat, can't fully extend my legs with the seat as far back as it goes, and can't fit my fist between my head and the roof. Only thing I can think of, is the Limited's power leather seats not providing as much room as the manual cloth seats?

I was trying to sell my wife on buyjng one. We did a test drive, and that XJ was tighter inside than her 95 Legacy. I don't understand how, but it was.

I can see the long legged problem in the XJ, and getting your feet over the rockers is odd. But once I'm in I feel good. Cloth seats, probably worn out, too.

I'm not a XJ person, but don't discredit seats. Seats do weird things. All the gmt800 with cloth fit me like a glove... leather moves the driver over and you're off-center of the steering wheel. I have an 05 2500 with leather and have simply lived with it because otherwise its a great truck... seating position is fucking retarded.

Willing to sell?

Plausibly, it's Jewel's, we've talked about it selling, just depends on what mood she's in. She either wants me to put a diesel in it (We got her our first TDI 15 years ago, and now she thinks everything needs to be diesel) or want's to replace it with Ranger Rover "Classic" or 2 door Tahoe/Yukon.

According to this thread, XJs only came in white and wood.

It is a popular color. My dad just bought this rust free 4.0HO xj and had it sprayed with NH oil. Planning to DD it in the winter to keep his LBZ away from salt. Considering a 5-speed swap. He's in his 70's, 6-1 or so, loves it because it's comfortable and easy to get in and out of compared to his mkiii jetta tdi that he was using as his sacrificial anode.

Where was it then? Axles?

XJ is one of those vehicles I thought were neat/cool till I owned a couple. They're good drivetrain donors for wranglers. Were fun when you could buy one for $500, flog the shit out of it, and sell it for $600 for cover fuel and beer for the weekend. With current prices and trends, pointless to own if you havent already since new.

We have one in the blue/grey color. Was free, had a locked up alternator and the PO thought it was locked up. Cut off the belt and fired up on 5 year old fuel. Need to weld the pass lower control arm back to the axle, bangs a bit in 4wd.
