My dads XJ got stolen Kansas, Oklahoma/ Siloam Springs Arkansas area

My dad thinks he remembers the tag number he got. Does anyone know a way to find out who the tag belongs to and if it is for the same car he saw it on?

I can run it through my repair program and it should come back with the details and vin. It works for Alaska plates anyway. Just need the number and issuing state.

He got it back last night. Thieves left the tag on it and a cop ran it and it came back stolen so the cops waited till they came out and arrested them. It was in someone’s front yard in Springdale Arkansas.

It did not get torn up too bad. My dad said they sanded the paint off the bumpers and spray painted the wheels black. He said they smoked in it a bunch and it smells like an ashtray and they stole his new battery and put a junk one in. He said besides that they did not tear it up too bad. He said they even waxed it.

Thanks for everyone here trying to help we appreciate it.

Good to hear it!

Years ago my grandfather gave my little cousin his extra Lincoln, then it got stolen and was missing for a month. They busted the column, but installed a new CD player, and every time she hit the brakes, some shop lifted tools or makeup would roll out from under the seats:laughing:
We just called it a wash:homer:

Awesome, glad he got it back.

one day my heep was "broken" in to. never has a top or doors on it. well the dumb arse stole about 1.28$ of change from the cup holder and left his cell phone. called the police, they pick it up. a few weeks later, run into the office that picked up the phone, while in his possession, 3 calls for selling drugs come in. ie, "we got coke, meth, pot for sale, need any?": come in so he got 3 busts without even trying .

30 some odd years ago my brother and a buddy were working in Amarillo, they had a flat tire so they left the car and walked back to their apartment. The next morning they found the car had been stolen, they reported it to the police, when they job finished the other boys family went and got them. About a year latter his buddy got a call from the Amarilo police telling him if he didn't move the car they were going to tow it. Hooked up the trailer and headed over parked almost in the same place thye had left it was the LTD, the gas tank was almost empty, about 2,000 more miles on the odometer, the tire had been replaced, and the back seat was full of empty fast food bags. When they cleaned out the back seat, they found my brother sheep skin leather jacket still on the back seat where he had tossed it. They decided someone had needed a car to go somewhere found the LTD with NM plates, and borrowed it. Funny thing was the cop that showed up and started hassling them about the car being stolen and wanting to see ID when they were loading it up. :lmao:
