The left was never really aligned with science or rational/logical thinking; they align with whatever gave them more votes. In the past that was standing up to "religion" by embracing atheistic views which happened to align with certain parts of the scientific community.

As seen with Climate Change pseudo-science, they grab on to whatever will get them more votes and more power.

In my experience, they have always been highly selective as to which science they follow. Are you surprised that lefty "sciency" people were the ones who were put on TV?
 
Another turning point for the left (before COVID) was when they started to align themselves with criminals and nonproducers and paint them as victims under the guise of racial injustice. Like MChat said, probably a good when to tap into more votes.

Wouldn't surprise me. I also saw a short clip of him talking to Bill Maher where he got pissed and started defending the COVID lockdowns and school closures.

He tried to hide behind the anonymous, "lots of people are saying" line. They have no sources for 95% of the stories they put out. Its always a source, close to a source, that talked to a guy, that stayed in a holiday inn express last night.

I haven't read much else on it yet, but they covered it on Darkhorse last week. Apparently Substack is launching their own twitter-like feature on their platform and they were discovered "stealing" piles of code from Twitter. Not really sure that the blocking/throttling was actually intended to prevent that or if it was just punitive.
