Plan is to grab a junkyard pump and hoses as the backup plan for no reason other than I can't get a new or reman quickly for under $300 and fuck that.
I'd bet good money it sprang a leak and they drove it around dry or some shit.

those plastic ones seem to separate from the hub sometimes
I've done a few that were still spinning the pump and would just start decoupling only when you'd steer while stopped
